Summer Begins

Thanks for all the input! Mike and Tom, even! Soo good to hear from you bums (blogger-bench spectators) Ed, we did not hear what you did for you bday and how is the move going???
Fred and Beth are polishing floors by now for our upcoming Orient Express experience.
Mary asked me to mention that if you have not sent in your RSVP, please note who will be getting which meal on the return slip. If you already sent it, just email her who wants which meal. What beautiful invitations, folks. Ed and Sue could moonlight in that business for sure.
Summer has begun and K and I have spend some serious deck time already.
Everyone has said better all that needs to be said so I will leave the blog and go do some real work. Love p
PS Each of you will be receiving an email invitation to our Cabin the Sunday afternoon up at Grand Superior Lodge to help celebrate a party for Jo and Bob's 50th Anniversary./ Stay tuned and keep an eye on your email. Mary and Ed will be there of course and approved this message.

  1. Monday before the fourth! I ahve been packing for our first trip to the lake for a month. And for a holiday it takes so much packing. We will drive back home next Monday afternoon.

I am feeling quite good, but these sorts of trips take alot of energy, and I still tire easily. But all is really going good!

Will close and wish all of you a very happy holiday. Enjoy the train trip to Michigan, girls. And I'm sure many of you will bedoing like we are, enjoying family.

Urgent prayers for Phil and Deb as they try to discern this jobless situation and what is best for their family-leave MN or stay here and take a chance that a job will open up in time at General Dynamics. He has an offer in Chicago at Motorola, but he really does not want to leave the family support that he has here in the Cities. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide them as they make a decision. He has until Wednesday to call the job at Motorola.

    Love, Mary C

  2. Hello everyone! I take it I had the wrong date for the train trip to Michigan: I thought you were gooing over the Fourth! Thanks Pat for the pictures of the parade with our red-headed singing sister! and fun to have a sneak peak of the Fourth party at Kathe's.

We had a great time at the lake. Earl sets off quite a display of fireworks and we all enjoyed that.

Phil has accepted the job at Motorola but he has to get a security clearance before the job is his. He is dreading the move to Chicago, but it would be worse if he had to worry about making house payments because he did not have work. They want him down in Chicago in six months and the family moved down there in a year. This latter made it a more possible move. He hopes to purchase a home in the Schaumberg area so the commute isn't so far.

We are home for a few days. I had a dental appointment Tue; Ed has an association board mtg tonight; Wednesday we watched Izzy play tee-ball at the park; and tomorrow, I have a mtg with the diabetic educator. My blood glucose readings for the lasdt month are actulally pretty good, so we will see what she suggests-that I continue as is or go on either insulin or byetta: either would involve daily shots. We then plan to go to the lake Friday ofr Saturday and stay until Friday the 18th. Then home in St. Paul Park until we head into the Duluth area for the party.

Speaking of the party: Be sure you bring clothes so you can layer. It can be hot in August in the afternoons, and cool down in the evenings. So bring sweat shirts or sweaters.

As for the party itself, casual summer or sunday best clothes. No need for "suits" for the guys.

I have to make three phone calls today to clarify who is getting which meal. That was the "ooh whoops" on the invitation for those who are two or more: We should have had you specify who was getting which meal. No problem with those of you who are coming single or two who ordered the same meal.

Not much more from up here.

Deb's chronic disease is fibromyalgia. It is not degenerative, but it is "progressive'. She is on medications which are somewhat unpleasant. Of course it requires a lifestyle change, particularly, a decrease in stress! So this move they must not deal with is not helping the cause.

Looking forward to seeing all of you soon.

    Love, Mary C
