Heading to Ann Arbor Choo Choo Style

Kathe and her gals and I are heading up to Ann Arbor and we cannot wait to see Fred and Beth and have some time drinking tea on the way....We had a terrific Fourth around here...Paradise weather and good times..Hopefully I can get Pat to post a couple of those pictures now that he has this outstanding camera... Things sound good for Harold Streicher so far and Brett has only 7 more days before his patrols stop and he is taken to Basram where he will have a beer or two I am sure with Christian..who we hear is also doing well.
Wish us bonvoyage..Next weekend Julie and BEv come back in for an outdoor concert to raise money for soldiers and it stars Gary Sinese from CSI NY....He has a wonderful band and hopefully weather will be good for us.
So good to hear of Jo and Bob seeing JonJon and his beautiful daughters. Thanks for sharing those Jo....Please update us on what youall did for the Fourth and so good to hear from you too Mary Fleege!!! We are looking forward to that trip as well... We are almost acting like we are retired!! us here in Chitown...Love to you gotta run and pack xxp

  1. Just to let all of you know, the nine soldiers killed and others injured Sunday are from Brett's area in Kunar Province in Afghanistan, but he did quickly get on email and let us know that he was not one of them. He has four more days before he leaves Afghanistan...please, please keep him in your prayers! It is
touch and go there right now.
My energy is zapped from worry, but I trust that God's will shall be done.
We had a fantastic trip to Fred
    and Beth's. We were treated
like royalty, and it was so fun
seeing everyone. My 30 and 25-
year-old girls were out playing tag
with all the little ones and
    chasing fireflies! We told Fred
and Beth they should open a
bed and breakfast. Amtrak is the
    way to go!!!!!!
    Come on...let's keep hearing from
    everyone!!
    Love and prayers,
    Kathe

  2. Well, Kathe, Peg and girls, sounds like you had a wonderful time with the Detroit Lennons. So good to know Brett is still safe and will keep him in prayers.
Your Uncle Al Benson in Calif.just got home from the hospital after a ruptured appendix, surgery, and then a mild heart failure on the oper. table, but is now feeling fine and back to his old shananighans.
He emails nearly daily with forwards of some interest, some not so great, which I give him a lot of grief about, since they are politically loaded!!
His problems with health started when the wildfires were near them and the air quality was thwarted. They were advising all in his area to stay inside.
Not much news here, other than the city is today pouring sidewalks at the backside of my lot, which will no longer provide the privacy we have enjoyed, having a quarter acre of timber behind the house.
Especially since I have always maintained a pathway through the woods to the road behind, and now after clearing away the buffer of trees between us and the street, the path is wide open to the sidewalk.
    Oh well, cant fight progress!
Hey, does anyone know whats up with Kevin? Havent heard any news about him in a long time. And Mary, how is Deb doing with the new found disease?
And this in memory of Dad L.:
    weather report:
We finally got a little rain. Still drought conditions tho. Less humidity than other summers, for July. Most pleasant fourth ever in Atlanta area. Have had breezes, something almost foreign in the summer in the past. Love to all, bonnie

She put some very relevant stuff there..We will be welcoming Phillip into our area...and let him know there is more chance of SOME family time now in this are compared to when he was here before. We are excited and happy he got a job and Motorola is a good company. Peg
