CHATTY KATHE'S CORNER

Greetings to all my beloved siblings, spouses, and nieces/nephews! I have been keeping track
of all the recent birthdays and wish you all belated blessings. I'm not as good at the blog as
Peggy and Mary, but I do read it religiously and think of you all often. Also, my best wishes
to all of you who are so health impaired!
Mary Jo and I are enjoying our break from the little tykes at school. She was a dear sweetheart
and came over the other day and helped me clean up my disastrous garage and get things
ready for an upcoming garage sale. I'm surprised she still wanted to come help me after
spending the day helping Peggy with hers...and you know with Peggy there is always a
hilarious story to tell. Just ask MJ what it's like to pitch a tent with Peggy!!!!
Pat, MJ, Peggy and I have now begun a Saturday morning "breakfast club". It's fun to get
together to catch up on everything whenever we get a chance. We're looking forward
to Julie and Bev's visit next weekend!
Bonnie, keep us updated on Sara's condition. Give her my love.
Sue, your invitations were exquisitely done, and we are so excited about our venture
to the north country to celebrate such a special event!!
You all should have received the "Save the Date" reminders of Alicia and Norb's wedding.
It is going to be here before you know it! For those of you concerned about getting to the
wedding, a bus will be provided from the hotel down to the wedding and back out to the
hotel. Then a shuttle will be provided from the hotel to the reception and back again to
the hotel. So...no one should have to worry about having to drive downtown or catch the
train to get to the church downtown. Also, some people have been asking about the name
of the hotel, and it is the Holiday Inn and Suites in Carol Stream, IL. If you want to make your
reservation, just go to the web site to get the telephone number. Be sure to ask for the
block of rooms under the name of PERRY-RUCINSKI to get the special rate. Some have
also asked about where she is registered, but she has not done that yet. I'll let you know
when she does that.
I talked to Brett yesterday, and he is counting down the days until he is able to leave
his "hell on earth". The unit that is going to replace his unit has completed its deployment
to Afghanistan, and on July 22 they will be taking over for his unit. Then he is scheduled
to leave for Italy around August 1. He is going to meet up with Christian at Bagram (sp.?)
Air Base (which is where Christian is serving) on his way out of Afghanistan. Please
continue to keep him, Christian, and all the soldiers serving there in your prayers. He is
apparently going to miss Alicia's wedding, which was VERY disappointing to all of us,
but trying to plan around the military's calendar is like following a moving target. Alicia
was devastated, but I told her that just having him safe and out of there will be "gift-
enough".
Peggy, Emily, Alicia and I are thrilled to be going to Fred and Beth's for our little mini-
vacation. We are excited about seeing everybody!!!
Keep entering on the blog...it is so fun keeping up with everyone. Mike, I'm proud that
even YOU actually got on it!!
God bless all of you. I love you very much.
Love and prayers,
Kathe

  1. Hi All,
What a nice surprise to find all the news on the blog. Thanks eveyone for all your updates.

Just thought I would continue the medical family updates. don't want to feel left out. Had lunch with Julie yesterday at HyVee (stayed away from the butter, Tom) and Julie is fine. She is still limping a little from her wrestle with the fan. The other night she woke up on the floor with the fan on her legs. She had had another seizure. Dr. Dixon x-rayed, and she had broke 2 toes so he upped her seizure meds. As Dr Dixon said, "Julie, you need to get yourself a man not a fan!"

She is feeling so much better after going on her gluton free diet. Saw her gastro doctor this week and he told her she could have wheat products once in awhile but not to over do it. She was glad to hear that. She and Bev are coming in to Chicago next weekend and is looking forward to Mary and Ed's celebration in Aug. Great invite, Sue.

Mary, so glad to hear of your successful surgery. Bonnie, please pass on our prayers to Sarah that they find out the cause of her mysterious illness.

Mike, it was great to read your blog entry. Please keep it up.

Fred and Beth, miss reading your family updates. Please let us know how all are doing.

Congratulations to Elizabeth on her new arrival and to Roseanne onbeing a grandma once again. I can hardly wait!

We are meeting our girls and hubbies today for a Late Father's Day lunch in Rockford and hope to have our weekly poliitical breakfast date with Kathe and Peg tomorrow.

    Love and prayers to all,
    Mary Jo

  3. Dear Brothers and sisters-Yesterday, I sent you a "forward: from Milt Bathing Suits"Do open it and have a laugespecially the feminine half of the family. Milt is an old teacher friend of mine from Duluth who frequently sends fun and inspirational, Christian and Patriotic stuff to his e-mail list. The first day this particular one came, I was too tired to read it, but I laughed and hurt my sides when I read it yesterday and especially thought my sisters and sisters-in law would really find it funny. So brothers, since I only have your e-mail addresses, please run it off for your wives.

Just got home from Word and Communion and have abit more spunk than I had yesterday. (I found myself quite pooped after Mass yesterday morning. So I turned down a shopping trip with Sue and slept and read all day.I'm into my normal clothes yesterday and today, finally. So we will see. My response to people asking how I am doing is to say-"I just know my belly has been assaulted!!!" I see the doctor on Friday who will check out the wounds- and my understanding is that they are to be healed by that time. I have no reason to think that they will not be.

We are beginning to feel pressure to get things done for our bash. Cathy, who is the party power engine is in school, and really has no time to direct us. So her energy and competence is much missed. Some how, we will manage on the short time she is able to spare. No matter what, we are looking forward to the time together with you.

    She is studying very hard and so far holding her own very well on the book work. We have benefited a couple times on her emerging massuse skills. (She does pretty good after only two month training.}

Phil is presently laid off by Motorola. They only retained about 20 people here of two MN sites. Jobs in his area are not abundant here in the Mnpls area.So pray that good things come out of this for that family and all of us. We would hate to see them move from the area, but it is not in our hands: he needs to have work. Hopefully, it is not a long layoff.

Guess that is the news from up this way. Hope all of you are doing well. We are praying for all who have asked for prayer. Hope sone answers have been found for Sara's malady. Do let us know.

Tell Alicia and Norb, the bus sounds great!! I was also wondering how we would hold up for that trip downtown and back. Thanks for their thoughtfulness. We are looking forward to that grand party as well. We are a partying bunch aren't we for such a sober, serious bunchZ!!!

Will close now and keep up the communicationo. It is great to hear from so many of you. Will close-Love, Mary C
