  1. Hi family! I got a message from Peggie on the family tree site to come by the blog, so I thought I would stop by and say hello.
As some of you know, I will be going on my mission trip to India here in a few months, and my team and I are starting to finally be able to do our fundraising! This trip is going to cost about $3800, so I need all of the help I can get! So if you are able to donate, I would really appreciate it! If not, if you could still keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I continue to get support! I am really excited about the trip. I am going with three other students from different schools. This is going to be an amazing experience and I will be keeping you guys updated. I think I said before that I will be starting a blog in May about my trip so I'll post the link to that here then. Anyways, here is my fundraising website if you are interested!

  2. Good to see pictures. Everyone looks well. Finally home from our month long trek. We bought a house in Ocala, Fla (horse capital of world)3BR/2Bath with 2411 sq.ft. under A/C. 1/4 acre corner lot in a Del Webb community called Ston Creek. About 80 mi. NW of Orlando. After looking for years, we got a great deal in a great community. We have friends living nearby and love the layout of home. It will be built by June/July. Once done I invite family to visit. Steve is working on mortgage and his only question was how did golf course look!! He is putting golf trip together for late summer.
Now we need to sell business!!
Everybody is well and productive. We are going to Rebeccas in 2 weeks so no time to relax. Had a nice visit with Bro Tom and Jan before coming home. Too bad they are leaving their slice of heaven and returning to Atlanta.
Hope everyone is well and happy.
    Love-Bro Ed

Congratulations Ed and Linda on finding the home in Florida. How wonderful for you. Got Rebecca's invitation and sure wish I could go, but afraid not possible. It sounds like she and John are very happy.

So great to hear from Katie. How about Alicia and Emily getting on and sharing abit about whats going on in their lives?

Any news from Roseanne and Thomas?

Thanks Peg, for all you do to keep us informed. Love, Bonnie

  4. Hi Everyone,
So this is my first post on the blog..thought I should give all an update on the Chitown kids. Anyway, all is great besides the fact that we are waiting for another snow storm to hit (12 inches!!) tonight so the commute home should be a lot of fun! I'm sure you all know I'm getting married in October and we are all very excited. Emily, Norb(my fiance), and I went to our church (Old St. Pat's-one of the only places to survive the Chicago fire-I think everyone will love it, it's beautiful)last night for a music fair to choose our musicians and program for the wedding. It's a lot more difficult than I thought, to say the least. I thought I would walk out with a singer and pianist, but instead I've hired 7 musicians...a string quartet, trumpet, pianist and singer. Over the top, I know, but of course this is the most important part of the day-and to my mom-so we'll just go with it! Mom couldn't go last night because of the fog warning-you couldn't see 5 feet in front of you! so we missed her:(, but all in all, it was a lot of fun!

    Haven't heard from Brett lately
(3 weeks-which seems like eternity), I'm guessing his phones and email are down so of course it's hard on all of us. I must have to say thank you to Fred and Beth for Norb and I's blessed crucifixes they gave us at our engagement party...we pray with them all the time-they definitely bring us a sense of peace whether it be prayers about Brett or work or life. We will be carrying them on our wedding day. The good news is that Norb, his brother (Wren), and I are planning on going to Italy next April when Brett is back. They are big skiers so it works perfectly that Brett's base is about 30 minutes from the Alps and some slopes:)And it will be nice to see where he's living and just to be with him.

Emily is doing well...we still live in Bucktown, Chicago, but will be moving shortly. I will be staying with mom until the wedding and Emily has found another roommate:( We've lived together for 3 years so it will be a change not seeing her all the time, but it's a pretty busy and exciting time so I'm sure not much will change-at least for another few months!

Emily still works at McGraw-Hill as a Developmental Editor in Burr Ridge (about a 30 minute commute) and I work downtown for The John Buck Company, a commercial real estate company. We are a full scope real estate company and I'm part of our construction management team.I'm currently a Project Assistant for the expansion of the BCBS headquarters on Randolph Street (right across from Millenium Park). We are adding 24 stories to the existing, occupied building-an expansion of this magnitude has never been done before so it's been pretty interesting.

Well, that's about it...I will stop in and say hi again. Hope all is well! Love, Alicia
