Mary...

So good to hear from you, Mary. You blow me away with your energy and community spirit...Great to hear about all the kids and congrats to Kathy for her major accomplishment and hope she does well on her tests. It is very nerve wracking but does end. YOU are helping keep the blog alive as much as any body.
Took Pat out for his bday last weekend. MJ and Kathe and I met him at Maggianos (his fav) and we had a lovely evening together. I spent some time also with K last weekend and this weekend in some walking and light shopping.
It is fun watching the goldfish bowl called Facebook. Someday you will be talked into it like I was and see just what a blast it is.
We heard about Marianne's little girl growing in her tummy and MJ has been spotted buying hair barrettes already. So adorable.
K and I are doing some homeless volunteering Thur while all of you guys pig out. Please let me hear a little about it on our family blog if you get some times. I called Roseanne and am hoping to catch up with her as well.
On Dec 5 we three are going to IMAX to see Christmas Carol and then Julie and Bev I think may be coming the next week to go downtown. Otherwise, my dance card is pretty empty.
Good to hear from you Mike on your day . Love for now sissy p

  1. Thanks for the current updates. I thought Patricks lovely note to all, a very beautiful tribute to love of family. Sounds like he had a wonderful birthday celeb.
Kathe and Peg, tell us more about your homeless volunteering.
Last friday I helped pack thanksgiving groceries for a dinner for 200 families at our church. Each less advantaged, family got two brown paper sacks full, plus coupon for a turkey at local supermarket. It was a great experience to see young and old alike working together on the project.
That evening I saw a great old play, ARSENIC and OLD LACE, with my SINGLE AND SINGLE AGAIN,group, at our Cultural ARts Center.
The roof leak never really got fixed, as the next rain brought an even greater torrent of water down my bathroom walls. After several phone calls and promises to return on the part of the roofing co., and no shows, I finally complained enough to have them return the $ from their first visit cost, and dismissed them. They obviously had more business than they could handle. As with over 15 different roofing cos. that have all had calls from me, since then, no one available until Jan. and the roof still leaks.
But it could be worse. At least its in the bathroom!!!!!!!!!!!
Our Thanksgiving for Sarah and kids and Laura, will be held at my neice, Tammys this year. My sis will be up from Florida for T-day. So we will enjoy a great family gathering, and reminisce about those happy days of yore around the formica table, on the Sabula farm. Wish some of you were here to enjoy it with us.The only problem with eating elsewhere/ no leftovers. I really crave to have some of that wonderful turkey chow mein, that Mom used to make after the holiday.
Joseph IM ed on saturday and says its quite cold there, but snow is melting. He will soon be off for his long winter holiday break. He hasnt said where he plans on touring, this year.
Hes busy correcting papers this past weekend he said.
I am loving keeping up with all the nieces and nephews activities on facebook. We sure have some intellegent, clever, and comedic young people sharing their daily lives. Its great.
And love seeing what Kevin and Brett are up to, also.
Wishing all of you God's greatest blessings to be thankful for and the appreciation of the boutiful life in every way. God Bless, B.

  2. Happy Thanksgiving to all of my family! I am so
thankful to know I am part of this wonderful
group of special people. I, too, have been having
a ball keeping up with the nieces and nephews
through the fishbowl of Facebook. It has given me
an opportunity to get to know them better, even
    though we are far apart.
May you all have a blessed day tomorrow with
your loved ones. My girls are at their dads and
in-laws, so Peg and I decided to make it a service day instead of stuffing our faces. We
are working in a resturant serving homeless
    people.
Alicia is having me, Emily, Peg and MJ (if she
wants to) over to her new house Saturday to
continue our tradition of making Mom's spritz wreath cookies. Since we're not making the cookies at my house. I guess that means that this year I don't get to keep (and eat!!!!!) all the wreath cookies that we make! Darn!! Now I'll have Peg and MJ OFF MY BACK!! haha
Alicia is hosting Christmas Eve at her
new home, and then we're going to Midnight Mass
at the church where she is in the choir.
Brett leaves for Afghanistan within the next
two weeks. He can't tell me exactly when he's
going, but please keep him (and of course
Christian, Kevin, and all our other soldiers)
    in your thoughts and prayers.
Again, God bless you all and have a peaceful,
    joyous holiday season.
    Love, Kathe
