Catching Up

Hi Lennons
It is early Sat morning here on a gorgeous day in Chitown and I actually have a few minutes to say hello. Quick recap includes a great trip to Boston and a visit with Ed and Linda which included real lobster and lots of great photo ops...we even met up with Mary Jo in Boston and hung with she and her sister and cousin. Then we Roseanne, Julie, Kathe, lucked out seeing Jo and Bob and Mary and Ed last weekend as the Streichers finally had their memorial for their grand daughter, Heather. Lots of relatives there and then on to my house for some Sat eve al fresco dining in Westmont and a good visit.
Pat and Mary Jo hosted Jo and Mary for several days and I heard it was a good visit. We did visit them for a Friday night "mom" Lennon tomato sauce based spaghetti meal and we at our butts off there as well. Julie drove in for the memorial then drove back the next day with Chelsea and we took her to the Brookfield Zoo for a wonderful experience there. Oh I almost forgot....Kevin stopped in on the previous Sat for a big LOVE YOU KEVIN sendoff to his Iraq duties. We served huge steaks, had corn on the cob, salads, and HOMEMADE IOwa Choc Cake..(By this time, I had abandoned recording my weightwatchers points and as Kathe would say, the eating Juggernaut continues even as of today)
My dear friend Trish from New Zealand who now lives in Fiji (by the way, anyone who wants to rent a holiday home in Fiji, contact me or Trish..she and her hubby own a one acre right on the white sand beach rental)arrived on Wed and today we are joining Kathe to go into downtown Chicago to stay overnight in the Drake and watch the Air and Water Show. Trish will stay now till Thur and we are hoping to see Mary Jo this Tuesday together..Kathe can get on here and disuss her return to school soon and her news of Brett and all. We hopefully will see maybe alicia and emily today??? but anyhoo..I have not been busy between putting out fires at the office and muddling through with a recession in the business sense but God is good and keeps me supplied with all I need and then some. Love having all the family nearby.
Pat is alone this week as Mary Jo is now in Minnesota at a lake home her nephew owns. Not sure when we are going to catch up with him but Pat, if you are around, add your own notes!~!
I am still trying to figure out how to download my iphone photos into the iphotos...thus no pics from me even though I have taken hundreds..Hope to post some soon. Okay, I think there are no birthdays to point out yet??? Bet I missed Beth Lennon on August 5th..same day as mom..Sorry Beth but belated H Birthday!! Correct me if I am missing anyone. Love p

  1. Peg, Beths birthday was on the 9th, not the 5th. I spoke with her on her birthday and she sounded wonderful. It was great to catch up on all their family happenings, and be in touch with their busy, busy, lives.
As for us, Joe left today for Kansas, where he will do some preliminary orientation for his trip to China to teach at the University in Zhengzhou. They were to fly from Fort Hayes, at Hayes State University, to China, but there has been a hangup on visas for all of the teachers going, so he will fly home on sat. and then leave for China, approx. a week later than planned.
It has been great having him home for these 6 weeks.
He helped me get ready for my last garage sale, held, this past weekend. It was truly a testimonial to the economic times we are experiencing, as started with all items marked a dollar a piece to simplify things, on friday, and changed to 5 dollars a grocery bag full, on sat. and did much better. Got to meet some new neighbors that have moved into the subdivision, and found out that those old LP's were a big drawing point for the over 40 crowd, especially men.
But garage sales are a lot of prep. and work, so vowed that this would be the last.
Its been great to keep up with the family via FACEBOOK, as these young neices and nephews take so many photos, everywhere they go, and it sure shortens the miles in between.
Have a happy september, all of you, and much love, B.
