my brothers and bros-in-laws. I know all your children will enjoy celebrating this special day with each and every one of you. Please take a moment to let us know how each of you spent your day.
Mary, it was so cute of you to remember that about Dad... Good to hear from you and Pat and Ed! I am happy to report Kathe is back with fond memories of Italy. I hope to meet for a breakfast club Sat (if cloudy) to learn more; but in good sun, I will be home power washing and staining my deck.... We shall see.
Gonna run out to Home Depot right now for my goggles and of course (thanks Dad) my gloves. He ha hhhhheeee Love m
Peg, You do the power washing yourself?? and the staining?? Good for you, you go girl!!!
ReplyDeleteTell that Kathi, to get on and write a few lines about her trip to Italy. Id love to hear what she saw and did, while with Brett.
As for my, (one of the younger boy cousins)
son, The latest news is that he is accepting a job to teach in China, this fall. He arrives home in a week, after being gone for three years, so we are all so excited to see him and enjoy his presence here for a month or so, before he heads to China. He was excited to know he will be teaching English writing in Zhang Zhoe, China. Of course he doesnt speak any Mandarin, so it should be an interesting adventure.I guess if he can teach English speech to Czechs, it shouldnt be too difficult. He will be teaching at a private University and living on campus, so can walk to work. We cant wait to hear more about his last three years in the Czech Republic.
Other family news. Mary Alice Benson, called me sunday to report she is home from the hospital after her knee replacement surgery, and doing fine. She will continue her physical therapy recovery at home. Hearing all about her surgery and recovery has been very encouraging.
I am dealing with what seems to be my annual bout of poisin ivy, the price I pay for doing my own yard work. The birds have been very busy this past winter, planting the seeds, so we have a bumper crop this year.
Its time to hear from some of these grandchildren, like Katie Johnson, and Kevin, and Brett. I suppose they are so caught up in FACEBOOK, they cant find time to blog here.
Happy Summer to all the Lennons. B
Hi Everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July celebration. Will be eager to hear from all of you about it.
ReplyDeleteWe finally heard yesterday from the doctor about the outcome of Ed's angiogram or what ever you call it. Again , he has a strong heart-no heart disease. His main arteries are clear and unclogged. His problem lies in the smaller veins/arteries that lead from the heart to the lungs. (It is not the valves-which I had understood in talking to doctor after the procedure.) This condition can be helped with medicine in many cases. So Ed will now be on couminin-likely for the rest of his life, which he finds distasteful!!! and they will start him on Lisnopril to see if it helps with his condition of losing his breath when exerting himself. Obviously, some lifestyle changes are in order-I would guess weight loss and exercise of some sort to increase his stamina and endurance. So I think we probably got good news last Wednesday.
We will be heading to the lake for the holiday and plan to stay until Monday, July 13. Sue is also taking a weeks vacation after the fourth.
Phil is getting pressed to get moved to Chicago by September. His home still has not sold so he is looking into renting it out for a year and see if the market changes after the second flood of foreclosure homes get through the market.
Cathy will graduate from her program of massage therapy August 15. She has had to work hard so we are quite proud of her accomplishment.
We are working with Paul to update his bathroom and kitchen in his home. It has kept Sue, Ed and I busy helping him select the stuff for the house, so I do not get much reading done these days. I finally got through all the e-mail from our last trip to the lake, and now we are off again.
I must go as we have a funeral at church again today. We had one last Tuesday. We are in an older parish. Most of these folks we do not know, but after the funeral eulogies, we know quite abit about them.
Had planned to call Julie last week, but kept gettinig a busy signal. Then Cathy called and wanted plans made for the fourth. Tried calling all my kids-and kept getting a busy signal. Finally, Sue used her cell phoone and got right through!! I discovered I had not placed receiver on upstairs phone properly.By that time, it was close to 9:30PM and I figured Julie had likely gone to bed. What frustration.
Now this better take on the blog or I will really be frustrated. Love to all. Mary C
