Christian Off to Afghanistan
Just to keep you posted on a couple of things: Christian Ships off to Afghanistan today so I know you all will keep thoughts of him in in your hearts.....Roseanne, if you get a chance to hop online (although these first two weeks of her your new job is probably exhausting) Keep us informed. Also I talked to Harold Streicher's sister today and she said Harold is in his first phase of heavy chemo. The kids saw him briefly today. He has no visitors for quite some time...but I think letters and cards would be welcome. I will try to get his address up here soon. I thought of that after I hung up the phone..so will wait a few days to call again. They are all pretty broken up but hopeful. Glad Freddie is okay too as you all probably know of his close call. Thanks his angels for being at the right place at the right time...Right?? Love for now...mb

Christian is in Afghanistan now, having left on Friday, May 9th---a day earlier than planned. He called just before leaving the States, and it was wonderful hearing his voice. Of course, with each of his deployments (this is his 4th),I hear his voice and worry that this time might not see him home. Every military mom can understand that, I'm sure. Christian looks forward to seeing Brett and hopefully that will work out for both of them.
ReplyDeleteElzabeth is due in about 3 weeks, and Kellene is due in early August. They both sound good.
Tom is working as warehouse/inventory manager for another high-end furnishing company (you'd think he'd learn!), and I have taken a position as an Executive Assistant for two ad agency senior executives on Michigan Avenue. (Back to wearing fashionable high heels!)The job requires 24/7 attention but I feel blessed to have work and so far, so good. But I now just work and sleep...those Egyptian sheets look wonderful even without having Peggy's flu! I am missing a lot of Chicago-family gatherings, but know I love you all and you are always in my prayers.
Take care and God bless.
Love, Roseanne

ReplyDeleteRoseanne Thanks for hopping online and filling us in! Julie called yesterday and said her Doc has confirmed Crohn's Disease in Julie's case and identified an alleged allergy to wheat products. Crohn's Disease is a chronic inflammatory disease and causes cell destrction and scarring of organs over time if not managed...It is manageable with good health choices and I have really encouraged her adjustments as well as that really controls exacerbations and hospitalizations.
ReplyDeleteJo also said Benny told her Harold developed a severe sinusitis during his chemo and is miserable...I am trying to locate the address so we can write him...Gotta run Love peg
