Hope everyone has a wonderful day celebrating Love (God's Presence) in our lives. MJ and I are planning to have a meal together and I will be cleaning & vacuuming the living room today.
Let us know what you're all doing for the day. Hope you had a good birthday yesterday Fred. Thanks for you support of Brett Bonnie. Peace and love to all. God Bless, Pat & Mary Jo
Happy Birthday, Fred! I know it's late, but I just didn't get back to the computer yesterday. I know that it had to be a good one with all your family to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteTo all of you, Happy Valentines Day! Christina is on her way home from California today. Sue will pick her up when she arrives. Already, she is on a delayed flight. She was to arrive around 5:30PM but now Sue will get her when she gets here!! Tomorrow night all of us will get together to visit and have a meal together. I am making spinach quiche and we will offer macaroni and cheese for the kids and others who are picky. Chris will come as well after work. We will be missing Patty, Becky and Matt. We are all looking forward to this happy event. We will celebrate Deb's BD as her BD is the 20th of Feb.
Thanks, Brett for your update. You and your buddies are mentioned each morning at our Mass or Prayer service. May you be filled with hope in this bleak and hard time time.Thank you and your buddies for your generous sacrifice.
I have lost two friends this past week: one and ADK sister and the other a guy who was in our Bible Group-until this fall when he and his wife moved to a northern suburb, over and hour away. Mary Ellen died from complications of diabetes, and Herb from heart disease. I must still get cards out and maybe Ed and I can make it to Mound for Herb's funeral. I will miss Mary Ellen's as we start a new Lenten evangelization program on Friday morning, and I have committed to be there. Her funeral is downtown at the Cathedral, and I cannot drive myself there.
I will close this note. We have done very little to plan our trip to San Antonio which is next Thursday for Ed and me to fly down for the week-end. Life has simply been too full lately. And we often cannot keep up the pace like we did a few years ago.
For now, Love to all of you. Hope to hear from more of you. Love, Mary C
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day. I always do, with 21 little munchkins at school so excited about exchanging their cards and sweets. But,an even extra surprise, was Sarah showing up at school just as we started, with a card, roses, and a humongous "I Love You" ballon! What a surprise. Our office receptionist came downstairs into our classroom and said, "Bonnie come with me", as she drug me out to the hallway, saying, "There is someone out here I want you to identify!" Knowing that the receptionist knows everyone I was wondering who that can be. Laughingly, they saw me in complete wonderment at who the stranger could be.
ReplyDeleteSo when it was time to leave for the day, I thought about that big, big, ballon and also considered that it was going to go home to a house with just me and spend the evening unappreciated by the masses, so as I left school, I decided to let my big balloon just hang out the window with its string inside the car, so maybe it could be appreciated by someone along the route who needed a reminder to tell someone they loved them on Valentines Day. I thought, better to share my valentine with the world than just keep it all to myself!!!
Well,I had not even gone a mile when I heard a thud/boing, and you guessed it, my balloon was off on a mission to make someone else who might find it, "Feel the Love". So, as I felt badly for its departure, I also felt like maybe someone else would see it floating upward and remember to share their love with the world. ( Lesson, when you put a balloon out the window, make sure the string on the balloon end is tight. ) I didnt. But hopefully, the world got to enjoy it anyway.
Thats my Valentine Story!!!!!!!!
Oh, yes, I have to add, that usually, other years, the teacher and i receive all sorts of chocolates, flowers and sweets from the children, but this year the only gift we both got, was a pot-bellied huge jar of specialty jam, from one little girl. When I got home, I told myself that this was better than chocolates, anyway. (Gods way of saying, skip the candy??) But when I tried to open the jar of jam,to apply it to a couple of crackers, i was stymied by the difficulty of opening it. It seemed impossible, so I decided that God didnt really want me to have the jam either!!!!!! I put it aside to try a screw driver later!!! Note: I was successful on a final try with a knife at supper. So I did taste the jam and it was yummy.
Its amazing how small gifts in our life can be so appreciated, when we have to wait for them.
Love to all. Bonnie
I wanted to add that I hope all of you also had a wonderful Valentines Day...Fred, let us all know how you celebrated and good to hear from Linda also...

Forgot, to extend HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, wishes to Edward and Linda on Valentines Day,so even tho it is after the fact, I think it is important to note that they are 30 plus years along the martial route and deserve to be congratulated for their perseverance and caring for each other. Wishing you both many many more years together. Bonnie

ReplyDeleteHi everyone. We are leaving for the airport in about an hour and a half for our week-end trip to San Antonio , Texas. Pry for us that we have a safe trip. Sue comes tomorrow night and we three return home on Sunday evening. We feel so fortunate to have this chance to enjoy a bit of sunshine (hopefully) and at least much more clement temperatures.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise all is well in the north here. Christina returned safely to California on Tuesday. No other real news. Just pray for us-as I get anxious on these airplane flights!!!
Hope all is well with everyone. Love, Mary C
