Hi Folks
It was so amazing to see Julie sitting here last weekend pecking away...she actually got into it so Pat is talking to her about using one of his old Macs and having someone sit with her for a couple of hours at least showing her the BLOG and EMail. She seemed more open this time. She also has had a consult with a surgeon who MAY be recommending time for an implant. We will keep you posted. She seemed sooo high about that. So keep her in your prayers as well.
She was supposed to be in here this coming weekend with Chelsea to go to the Zoo but with a snow storm coming and her having been in two other times in the last month, she cancelled out.
Life has been quiet for me since my TGiving break. Kathe and Em were both down a wee bit on TDay so I did not see much of them after the Day...Roseanne Tom and Julie and I met in Hinsdale for lunch Sat and then Pat and Mj and Julie and I met in the evening to walk in yorktown and grab something at Anyways...Remember Ed and Fred? Hamburgers and BEER! Yea
Pat and MJ are sponsoring our first Family Movie Nite in January. We thought we would get together for a movie night through the winter months and also enjoy some good old fashioned comfort food together.
For their Thanksgiving ( I hope they get on and tell more) Pat and MJ hosted 20 people in their beautiful home and they said it was a JOY! They have plenty of room and now (yes Pat got a 46 inch TV to be installed soon) a TV Room MJ had all of her immediate family and siblings over and she said it was wonderful.
Roseanne and Tom had a romantic T Day alone as Tom cooked up an organic turkey and they had WHOLE FOODS feast..You go Tom....Great effort and R said it was delicious. (PS Do not ask Kathe if ours was organic..hmmmm)
Glad to hear from Ed and Fred and I also got a note from Joanne about her fine TDAy...Jo pop on the blog and join in the fun...Did you get Tom's email, ED?
Mary, did MJ see you in Minneapolis???? She did not mention it but I think you did right? I gotta get serious now and get some projects done for work. It is 19 degrees here in Chi town and I plan to get my tree up this weekend. Jo and Bob may be coming over for New Years which should be fun depending on the weather...
All of us are going to a Christmas Concert here in D Grove on Dec 8th..it sounds like a good plan. Then on Sunday of Dec 9, Alicia is heading up the Spritz Cookie baking session at Kathe's. Stay tuned and join in and let us all know what you people are up to Praying for all of you and espec OUR BOYS Love m
Peg, thanks for the update and for keeping us all informed as to what is going on in the Lennon family. Too many of you out there that simply are not getting on line!!! Julie put up a great post and I really enjoyed all she had to say. I do hope Pat is able to get her set-up with a computer as she sends out a lot of good info. Just too many of you out there that are doing nothing - come on, get with the program and let us know what is happening in your lives. We had a great Thanksgiving with two other families as Tim/Sheila family went to her folks this year before Sheila took the girls to Chicago for the Irish Dance competition - they all did very well in a very big show. The Faraj family spent Thanksgiving in Honduras and had a great time with Albert's family. They plan to go back again this summer. The rest of our kids & families were here and we had a most wonderful time!! Everyone here doing well except weather is very wintery. Too cold too soon!! Beth is recovering slowly from her toe surgery. A lot of pain & more uncomfortable than with her toe surgery of twenty years ago or so. Maybe age has something to do with it. We are done winterizing outside so are ready to put-up tree and Nativity set tomorrow. No rest for the wicked!! Between homilies, Holy Hours, teachings, spiritual advice, etc., I don't have much time for anything else but I love every minute of it. We plan a trip to Chicago in January but don't know when yet as we are starting a monthly prayer group, go on retreat & have homilies to do so we are trying to fit that trip into our schedule - that is to pick-up stuff in Joliet for the Lennon Center Auction. You guys will have to come to one of these one of these years. Kathe, please let us know if Brett got the little goodies we sent him. Must close. Hope all is going well with everyone but I would know if that is true if you got on the blog - waiting to hear from you all!! May God Bless you all. Love, Deacon Joe
ReplyDeleteFred, I agree with you about the lack of participation on our blog. I talked to Bro Tom and he said it was a site where we picked on each other!!? I was surprised as that happens rarely and mostly in jest.Oh well.
ReplyDeleteHad a great T-Day. My turkey, dressing and pies were a hit. Then the soup was awesome!! Yes, my arm does reach my back for patting. Tammy did clean up for me. Justin brought his WII game and we all had a blast bowling, tennis, baseball playing. Other games as well. Ryan actually KO'd his father in visual boxing.
Linda doing real well. Should be off crutches in 2 weeks. She is amazed at lack of pain. Mostly swelling issues when she does stupid things like vacuuming when I'm not here. We are going to Tammys for XMas the Sunday before XMas.In process of painting doll house for Ellye. Will be putting cedar roof on this week. Didn't realize amount of effort!! Fred, Julie wrote me she would love to come east and ride in my boat. Of course she hinted she would need to con you into the driving. Think clam chowder from our seafood place!!! I will close by hoping you all have a joyous holiday season.
Love- Bro Ed
Thanks Ed for the compliment but I don't know if it will generate any new news!!! I do hope some of you get on line so we can hear what is going on in your families - there is no other way we will know. I am getting on again just to encourage everyone to read the latest Pope's Encyclical "Spe Salvi" or Saved by Hope!! I hope and pray that every adult in the world reads this document as it is outstanding and really captures the "crisis of faith" that I talk about all the time. It is a must read and everyone must reflect on what it says. I am going to quote from it a lot in my upcoming Advent homily. Beth is out shopping right now & I called her to tell her to get home soon as a freezing rain is to start at 6pm our time & turn into a very bad winter storm. I don't know what you all have had but we have had a fair share of winter already!!! Must close. God Bless you all. Love, Deacon Joe
