We just had to rush home to get these pics up in a timely manner. These are photos of our Sunday together at Cottonwoods Farm. It was a great Farm and reminded Kathe and I of some of the Farm Life including an OUTHOUSE. Tom you would have appreciated the architecture involved...ha ha We also had a Hayride on a wide wagon filled with bales of hay just the way Tom used to do when he drove us up to the Highway during the heavy snows in Iowa to meet the school bus. Sorry my grammar is worsening I am hurrying.
We then went to Kath'e home where we grilled pork chops (missed ya Pat) and Em made HOMEMADE caramel apples....Kathe made homemade applesauce and with Sweet potatoes and piesporter wine it was a great day. I got home after dark and did not care that Ihad not touched my brief case. He hhhee..Kathe put a great comment about Brett under the comments section two blogs ago..Love and gotta go now...m
Hi Everyone. A quick note on this wonderful fall morning here in St. Paul Park.
ReplyDeleteSue left this morning to work in Conneticut 9and attend a two day conference) but after reading Kathe's blog posting (two blogs back) she gave ordsers that I ask Kathe to post the kinds of things to post to Bret in Afghanistan. As we all get together Thanksgiving baskets to donate in our communities, we should be able to think of Bret and company. Do let him know that each night we do pray for our men (Kevin, Robbie, Chris and especially, Bret on the front lines). We also pray for all people living in the choas of war throughout the world-that they may be delivered!!! So Cathy, please let him know he is remembered every night and then get a list of the things that are needed, wanted and can be accepted through the mail to Afghanistan.
I talked to Julie Sunday night. I guess Kevin is depressed. He is now on meds but cannot drive for three months-so is dependent on others to transport him. He will meet with a big whig some time this week and is apparently apprehensive about this. So again, pray fro him that he will come to accept whatever is God's plan for him.
Cathy and I visited the resort where we will meet next August. It is a beautiful spot on this earth-a bit of heaven.
Now the girls are insisting that Ed and I spend time remembering stories and sorting pictures. I feel very burdened as first off I have never had a nack for "stories" and seldom initiate "memories"; I will remember once the pump is primed, but to dig them up is not my foray. But Sue is a stern taskmaster so we will try. In general, I think Ed has even less of these skills. Oh well....
We are making final plans for lodging so do let me hear from Roseanne who did not give me a definitive answer.
Also, Rose, I want to tell you how helpful it was to have the Missionaries help us move. They had a bit lwss work than they anticipated (since Julie had had the big furniture moved on Thursday by some guys from the apartment complex) but believe me, none of us old foggies were in any shape to carry almost the other half of Julie's apartment up the steps to the new apartment. So do let them know it was truly a BIG help. And I am impressed that they are doing such corporal works of mercy as part of their missionary work.
Congratulations to Jo and Bob on their 49th anniversary and on the new grand-daughter. Suzanne and Dave have their work cut out for them. What a wonderful little family. And what a good set of grandparents the;y have!!!
Will, close this "short note" as my work is waiting.
The pumpkink patch looked like so much fun. What a beautiful place to go and a fun activity! 0
Will liik forward to hearing from all of you on the blog. Love, Mary C
