ReplyDeleteYou do not put www at the beginning, which may have been why some could not reach it.
He just added some more photos of Czech republic, which includes some taken last weekend, when he visited a castle/chateau with Zuza, his girlfriend. He is leaving today for a hike through Europe for the summer, planning on backpacking it. Enjoy. Love, Bonnie
Its me again, as after reading all the other comments, I thought of something else to add.
ReplyDeleteTwo days ago, my next door neighbor invited me over to see, from their yard, over into my woods, that a large hawk family had taken up residence, and was feeding its young in the nest of one of my tall pines. We watched with binoculars, quite fascinated. It was dusk, so could barely see it. The next morning, when I woke, looked out of my bathroom window and spied one of the parent hawks, sitting on a fallen log, only about 20 feet from the window, devouring a small animal. Got the binoculars, and watched it for about 20 minutes as it swallowed its prey. So, determined after that, to locate which tree in my yard harbored the nest of hawks, I set out into the woods to locate it. After about 20 minutes of head straight up, stoping where ever I saw a gathering of twigs, I could not find it. Just then, my neighbor on the other side, yelled, from her driveway, "Theres a hawk sitting on the top of your roof. Not visible from my vantagepoint, I walked over to her driveway, where we watched for about an hour, as a pair of parent hawks, supervised the "coming out " party of their 3 or 4 young fledglings, who were learning to fly. My neighbors friend, and we, had binoculars, and he a movie camera, while we discovered the large nest in a tree, five feet from my house. The parents supervised first from my roof, then from branches either side of the huge nest, the practice flights of their babies.
It was such a fascinating experience, and I was so grateful to God, for the fact that I did not have to go to work or other appointments and neither did my neighbor. (She is also a teacher}
Watching how patiently those parents sat quietly, hardly moving a feather, letting their babies wing it, was certainly a lesson in cofidence. This shared experience,made my day. Plus,
offered me chances to visit with my neighbors and catch up on their lives. God is good. He offers us so many wonderful opportunities to know His world better and so often we dont take the time or patience to enjoy it. I was grateful that I had the time and space to do it today. I love reading all of your additions to the Blog. Have a great summer and God bless. Bonnie
Hello everyone! Just a quick note to let you know we are still alive here in the northland. Tomorrow morning we leave for the lake and will not be back to St. Paul Park until July 9. That is barring storms and power outages or other sorts of emergencies!! Cathy and Guy are joining us on Saturday for the week, and Sue is going to take a week at the lake as well. Cathy and Guy will probably do their own thing as it is one of their week's vacation. Paul will come up the 7th and 8th. Phil and Deb are painting their home-inside- with bold colors suggested by a decorator. We'll see how it goes!!!Anyway, we won't see them over the Fourth of July. Nor will we see Chris and Patty and family-so it will be on the quieter side-which is ok once in a while. When we come home the 9th, we probably won't get back to the lake until August as Ed has to finish up his present research project with his colleagues and needs to be near a computer and a phone for conferences. Hope you all enjoy the holiday. Pat and Mary Jo will be getting into their home; Ed and Fred will be enjoying each others company. When I get home, i'll be looking to see how all the rest of you have spent the holiday. Love, Maryfive.
