Happy Birthday Joanne!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hi Jo
You thought we forgot you!! No Way. It was fun to talk to you last week.
As we know, tomorrow is your special day and wanted you to know we are all thinking about you here in Chicago. We miss the times you and Bob would always come up for your glass of champagne. Here is to you Big Sister!!!!
Last night Kathe Roseanne Tom Pat and MJ came over to feast out a little and play some games. Too bad I am the best and smartest in the group...I hate to embarass my siblings sometimes. Ha Ha ha It was low key but fun and I had some of that fine Asti thanks to Kathe
Tomorrow afternoon, Brett stops in on his way to the airport....I will give him an adjustment and a big hug for all of you....He claims he has had a wonderful visit. I hope Kathe gets onboard here and shares some of the highlights of his two week visit.
Emily is sleeping on my couch as she awaits meeting Brett and others to go out to dinner with. They are celebrating his last night in town. I am watching sun go down on the first day if 2009 and AM WISHING ALL OF YOU A HEALTHY, HAPPY, BLESSED NEW YEAR!!!
PS.Good to hear from Mary C and Bonnie Thanks!!

  2. Happy Birthday,Jo!! Totally spaced out saying those words when we talked yesterday.Hope you had a great day. I do know that Bob is home with you today to celebrate the big72! That does sound awful doesn't it? I have to face 74 in May. I cannot say I feel like 19, but I sure do not feel like 74 either!!Big thing is to grow old gracefully! All our love to you today, Mary C and Ed.

  3. Wanting to let you all know how special you made my birthday...I felt like a celebrity with all the birthday wishes.....the topping on the cake was the news this morning that I now have a grand niece, Lucia Rosamaria, to share the same birth date with....
All is well here...we had a quiet Christmas. Due to a conflict with Dave`s family, Ann had a brunch at her place on Saturday morning. Katie was here for ten days from Oklahoma City. She has posted some pictures on her blog, Holy Cow, if you get a chance to take a look....
Bob has been home for almost ten days...he will be heading back to Indiana tomorrow afternoon. It will be quiet after he leaves..
Again, thanks for all the birthday thoughts . Still trying to get a handle on 72...not sure what that is suppose to feel like..will let you younger kids know when I get it figured out....!!!!!!!!!!
Love to all of you....hope this year brings blessings to all of you and to your family...Will soon be time to look for a reason to get together before another year slips away....Love, Jo

  4. Hi Everyone,

Pat said I guess it is our turn to publish a comment. We are sitting here experiencing the holiday let downs. I guess it is time to go back to work and to get back into a routine. Hi Ho Hi Ho!

Pat is not feeling well with a terrible head and now chest cold so it is a rather quiet weekend. Enough about our health!!

Glad to hear that Tom and Jan had a nice cruise and no one sent overboard . My nephew leaves today on that same ship and cruise ports as the latest woman overboard that has been in the news.

Pat and I had a nice birthday talk with Jo yesterday on our way back from Clinton. Tried to connect with Julie for lunch, but she had a trip planned to Davenport before the bad weather predicted today set in. Good to hear that Jo had a great birthday. How was the pitcher of margaritas, Jo?

We had a nice holiday with our siblings and also our kids. Luke was unable to join us until the weekend because of his work schedule. Hospitals do not take holidays. We really enjoyed our trip downtown. Marianne treated the 6 of us to a night at the Hyatt as she had travel points to use before the end of the year. We also saw a program at the Adler Planetarium on the star of Bethlehem and a rather expensive dinner afterwards. Now I know why we don't go downtown very often, but it was fun being all together. Peg and Kathe joined us at the big martini bar after dinner.

Well we are off to 5:00 mass so will wish everyone a blessed, healthy and happy new year.

Ed and Linda, we would like to hear about your new home and life in Florida. Get back on the blog and tell us about it.

Congratulations to the new grandparents in the family. Hope all is well with Becky and their new little one

    Love and prayers,
    Pat and MJ
