Hey, Good to Hear From

Mary and Tom and Bonnie ! Thanks It was such fun to read all your comings and goings.
Pat and MJ and Roseanne and Kathe and I had our breakfast on Sat...then we three girls attempted to see Christmas Carol but realized it was FULL OF KIDDIES and that is why it was called Children's Theater..we did a fast 180 left the building and went to a swanky hotel and sat and sipped hot chocolate and riesling...Much more zen like. Kathe stayed over and then got kind of "locked in" with the horrible cold weather and we made cookies and I made us a couple of nice dinners by the fireplace. It worked out great.\
Mary, it is good to know Ed's teeth are okay, your eyes are healing and I promise I will pray for the little one you spoke of. You too sound like you are going to have some cozy time together.
The best news was seeing Brett; he stayed with me and Kathe in my house Fri eve and it was just so fun to have him home. He looks terrific and left Sat to shop and then attend Emily's City Party on Sat night. We hear it was a huge success!
I work today and tomorrow: Kathe and MJO and Roseanne are all on vacation for two weeks. We plan to be at Kathe's on Xmas Eve; then Mary Jo and Pat invited me and Kathe to their home Christmas Day; Then Pat, MJ their kids and spouses and Kathe and I are all staying downtown for a couple of nights: Us at the Conrad Hilton; the rest at the Hyatt. We plan to hang out, walk around , shop, dine together and I too will have 5 days off in a row. Roseanne and Tom are going to his family.
Tom and Jan, glad you enjoyed your cruise. Too bad it wasn't this week, right?
I called Joanne yesterday and chatted a long time...she promised to get on the blog soon. She sent a kind comment to Buddy Miller's obituary section from our family; thanks Mike for getting in touch with all of us about his death.
So Fred also send me and I think some of you also a glowing report on their fabulous trip to Guadalupe with the 5 grand children. That has to be some kind of record for grandparenting!
I will go back to my fireplace and dinner. I must retire soon tonight as I work Tomorrow so if I do not get back on here, please join in and update your family gatherings and Merry Christmas to all my loving family. XX Hug Hug Peg Maggie B

  1. Just popping on here for the last time before Christmas to wish all of you the very best of the Holidays. It sounds like the Chicago crew of Lennons all have their plans well in place.
Sarah is busy with her children out of school, making gifts and at least 10 to 15 different kinds of cookies. She does that every year making trays and tins full as gifts for teacher, bus drivers, neighbors.
We are all invited to Laura's for a Christmas buffet on the 25th
Yesterday, I was surprised to get a card and photo of Jon's family, and He and Michelle promised they would try to get down to see us in 2009. They live in Acworth, so it is quite a drive away, but last summer I called them and invited them to come down for a visit. Jon said they would definitely do that soon.
Also got a photo card from Elizabeth and family, and it was so good to see their beautiful children. I really enjoy keeping in touch with the neices and nephews. I love the way you keep us updated on the Chicago, grandkids, Peg. And think about how you have become the Aunt Liz and Aunt Do equivalent for this next generation. Which reminds me, where are those photos of Chesea you were going to put on. Every child needs a special auntie like you!!!!
I happened to come across the 1998 photos of our home laden with snow and realized that that is how long since we had any signifigant snow here. I do miss it, but not the cold and ice.
Tho it was 18 yesterday, they promise us in the 60's for the 25th.
Joe emailed from Rome spouting excitement over the sights and cuisine of Italy. He was in Florence on that day about to see the "David" with his two flatmates, David. He was looking forward to Christmas with one of the Davids at his family home outside London. And they plan to celebrate New Years in London.
Well, have a bountiful, beautiful, Christmas and tip a glass of eggnog (or equivilently appropriate beverage), along with that wreath cookie, and May God Bless all your comings and goings in the New Year.

  2. May the blessings of this Christmas feast be with each of you and your families in all fullness!! May this celebration form and shape you into all that you are called to be. You will be in my prayers during this Christmas celebration.

Now to prepare for the feast!! I have much left to do before this afternoon. We were in Duluth Monday and Tuesday (part of each day-the timing was /is most difficult while preparing for guests over Christmas) to hear Becki in concert with her group of Choraliers. We would not have wanted to miss it. It was lovely-a medley of 15 Christmas carols and songs, all a capella. I could not help but think how the future is in the hands of these good and talented young people. At age 73, it is good to trust that the world is in good hands in the goodness of our young.

Love to all of you. Mary C, and Ed
