It was so good to hear you had a happy birthday Mary. We also learned that Christian is in a very safe part of Afghanistan..so safe they have Salsa Nights..So that is a relief as Roseanne reflected yesterday when I saw her. Brett is counting down the days and we all cannot wait.
Kathe and I went to see Harold Streicher at the hospital. Good news today as they say he had a good "turnaround in the last three days" re white cell count. All those who wish to be involved on leaving a personal message and looking at updates go to the address part on your internet search (where the http part is and type in: www.caringbridge.org and request his website name which is: harolds. You can really see what is going on and it is quite great the hospital does this. The web site merely asks for you to sign in using your email and a couple other things and then presto there you are....I got on easily and of course there is no charge and you only have to use a password if you desire to create one for your self.
Stay in touch.. Love to all Maggie B Do not forget Bob Smith bday on the 28th then I think Mr. Ed is up next. Love and hugs to you.

Hello again. Guess this blog is becoming yours and mine, eh Peg? Well , please don't give up. In time maybe some others of the family will find it of value too
ReplyDeleteWe were supposed to be at the lake as of yesterday already. But I popped a crown off during flossing on Wed. night and we also found out Isabella was "graduating" from kindergarten Thursday morning. Severe weather was expected through the area, so we decided to wait until this morning to leave. Then at noon, we get a call from Sue to come get her at work as she was very sick-likely the flue. This morning, she is still throwing up occasionally, and has a mighty headache. Chris does want Ed's help tomorrow, Saturday up at his cabin and we baby sit Matt and oversee Becky on Sunday-Monday in Duluth. So we decided this morning the we will go directly to Duluth tonight and drop down to the lake with Matt on Sunday or Monday long enough for me to get my bedding plants in pots.
There is a funeral at church this morning at 11:00, so I will go and do my "choir duty". Ed and I will work on invitations this afternoon. And hopefully, Sue will be better by evening when we leave.
I have had a most frustrating week. My agenda has not at all been on the top: I've been catering to WHEN the doctor's offices can fit me in! I have told some of you about waking up last Monday morning about 2;30 AM, thinking I was having a heart attack. When i got Ed awake, we decided to call 911.Gratefully, it was not the heart, but I did go into ER and after a AT Scan, it was determined that I have a large gall stone. So it was see my primary doctor, take lab tests, consult with a surgeon-then the dental mishap I mentioned above. All these appointments take time and cut up the day's activities. Anyway, I will have a laposcopy on June 17. Generally, this is simple and I will welcome your prayers. When we return to the Cities on Tuesday, I will have my Pre-Op.
On Tuesday also, we will attend a Mass that our parish puts on for couples married 50 or more years. They do this annually. Even persons who have become widowed (and were married 50 or more years are invited to attend. This is followed by a luncheon put on by the parish. We will not be able to stay for the luncheoon as I have my Pre-Op at l:00Pm. But this seems like such a nice tribute.
All this has pretty much occupied our time this past week. We had a play at the Guthrie on last Sunday evening. It was most artistic and we enjoyed it.
We are still holding a couple of rooms for anyone who might still want to plan to come to Minnesota and celebrate our 50th. We have until July 1 before we will have to release them. Rose and Tom, Fred and Beth and Ed and Lindal-Let me hear final word from you
Cathy is in school and studying her buns off. She is being very disciplined and I give her much credit. School has never been easy for her. She is working hard on anatomy and medical terminology.
Praying each night for all the family needs-our young men in Afghanistan, Harold Streicher, and all others in need. Talked to Julie, Jo, Pat and Mary Jo this week so am somewhat caught up on the family gossip.
Also, Cathy, Sue and Christina are interested in knowing where to book a room in Chicago.
Will Close with love, Mary C.
