April 26th Birthday Girl!

It appears we will be doing some partying this weekend as Mary Jo has a birthday and her girls are coming into town and hopefully a cluster of us will meet with her Sat night to split the cake.
Last weekend of course I had the honor of watching the bride pick out her bridesmaids dresses...mum's the word, but they are truly beautiful!!
Work is getting better I actually had two mornings to sleep in this week. Always a good thing.
Julie and Bev are excited about coming in to see Joanne for her visit the following weekend. Our dance cards are filling up here in Chitown.
Loving this Spring weather and so glad to hear from Mary and Bonnie and especially Emily re her friend Holly...I heard she has appreciated deeply all the wonderful prayers and notes sent to her and of all we hope she feels a little more loved this week than before! So sweet of you Em...
I want to watch Grey's Anatomy and look at the green Spring grass in the sunset so will toddle off to my other favorite place..my couch.
Love to all of you and stay in touch..XXX mb

  1. Happy Birthday Mary Jo. I told Pat I had sent you a message through Geni-knowing it was YOUR birthday and not Pat's as Geni claimed!!! I know the girls are over this week end, and my sibs. I know you will have a great celebration and a good time together. Go for it, Girl!!!

Julie had her procedures yesterday. She has serious infections all along her tracks-from entry to exit. Biopsies were taken and it will be two weeks before she hears back on those. She needs to take her medicine regularly. The doctor suspects that the flue likely got all this flare up going. It is serious, because these kinds of problems can lead to cancer or to Khrones disease. Bev was with her at the hospital during the procedures-God bless Bev for her faithful friendship. Brian also showed up, late, but at least he came.

Today we celebrate Izzy's birthday which was yesterday, 5th anniversary of Mom's death. Izzy is six and a joy to be around. We will gather up at Phil and Deb's at noon.

We are beginning to pack for the lake. Today we have snow on the ground and pretty cold temps. I heard on radio this AM that there is a wind chill of 18 degrees outside, And colder and snowier in the Duluth area. So the campground opens a week from today. I have a feeling it is not going to be too conducive for camping yet as they have had so much more recent snow in that area and cold temperatures. Hope the water lines are open. If not, we probably cannot go next week-end.

Friday is Grandparent's Day at St. Pascals, so we cannot head for Duluth until late afternoon. We are going to see if we can stay overnight at Chris's place and then we are only an hour and ten minutes from the lake. Then we would have a few hours start in opening our place before Ed has to start helping Sue open her place. (She would drive up to lake on Saturday morning.) There is just stuff in opening up that it takes a man to do.

Monday, we have an appointment to meet with someone at Woodwinds Hospital and to complete our Medical Directive. Finally!!! We have been trying to get this done for the past six to eight years. So I will feel good if we have completed this task.

Will close, but am looking forward to hearing from Roseanne about her new job and from Kathy about how Bret is doing. Emmy, How goes it for your friend , Holly? What is up with Karen and Marianne and husbands?

Phil is presently worrying about his job security and Deb is dealing with some stressful issues so I ask for prayers for them. Cathy has a uterine growth which they will wait six months before they check again-unlless she has troubles before then. She will start her massage school on the 28th so we do not expect to see much of her once that starts. She will do day care all day and do the massage schooling at night.(A big bite!!!) She does have a woman who helps her full time with the daycare.

That's the news from up north. Thanks Peg for keeping this blog going so we can participate at least a little in everyone's life and pray for their concerns. It's what makes community. Love, Mary C

  2. Mary, I enjoyed your newsy notes, and like you, am anxious to hear more about Roseanne's new position, as well as a report on Brett. So Isabelle is already six. Hard to believe, but thats whats so great about this blog, it helps us keep up on all the stages and ages of life. I love that. I will keep Cathy in prayer for her problems, and Julie of course. I spoke with Julie friday eve. and she sounded in very good spirits after her day of procedures.

Mary, tell me what you mean by opening up the lake places. Do you and Sue each have different residences on the lake?
When you pack to go there, what all do you take? Do you have to take all the pantry stuff as well as personal effects? Just curious.
I would think one would have to have duplicates of a lot of things in order to make the going to and from less hectic.
Not much news here, other than Sarah is getting close to soloing with her flying lessons. Lots of ground work to complete yet, but nearly ready otherwise.
Laura doing well with her own business full time now. Ginny is into running marathons and of course still working at the grocery. Shes no longer in the Bakery dept. Now she cashiers, and does her "bakery bit" on her own, with hopes of eventually running her own business out of her home.
Joe nearing the end of his school year and was hoping to come home for a visit,in June, but finding the cost prohibitive, so hopes to find a flight less expensive in late August. He wants to teach there for one more year.
My only news is totally unexciting, had a new air conditioner put in this week. It actually is exciting to me from the aspect of having spent a couple days last August, sweltering in 90 degree heat while it was broken.
Happy summer to all the Lennon kin and keep the blog updated, Peg. Ever grateful for all the entries. B.
