Weekend with family

Hi All. First of all Bonnie, the ice scupture is the beautiful coloured stuff behind us...The kidney shape is called THE BEAN and sits in Millenium Park and is quite a tourist attraction. It was a very chilly but had lots of coffee and hot chocolate to keep us warm.
I am making homemade turkey noodle soup (thanks to Julie for bringing in the turkey thigh from Iowa..we cannot find them here...) and I spend this afternoon walking outside with Kathe; yesterday I spent the day with Pat and MJ over at Oak Brook We had lunch at Maggianos after Pat and I did some stuff at the Apple Store. Then we also headed over to Yorktown where my sissy in law and I did a 40 min walk. That evening Tom and Roseanne came over to spend a few hours eating pizza and watching Lewis Black and two hours of some New Jamie Kennedy shows. We did laugh a LOT!!
We enjoyed temps in the 55 degrees today. More snow coming this way..so we seized the moment. Bonnie, I do not have your email to send my email...please have Roseanne send it from her computer. She is up and running now with a new computer. She and Tom are working it with sending out resumes and looking for more work.
My Front Desk Employee gave notice so I shall be looking for a new Receptionist over the next week or so....Us girls and some buddies are planning on going to Jersey Boys at the end of the month....Let us hear from some of you esp Mary as to how things went for your trip to San Antonio..is it not a great city and Ed let us know any thing about selling your business..?? Anyhoo love and signing off for now. XX

  1. Hello Everyone. Hope all is well with all of you. We had a great trip to San Antonio. The weather was like May around here-sunny, and temps in the 70's, 80's and low 90's. We saw most of the attractions that we wanted to see in our 3 days there. It was a real respite from the winter here in St. PAUL PARK. But we do not have the snow and ice that Julie and Fred were saying they are putting up with!!! Dangerous, besides the work involved in keeping the snow cleared.

Christina had her eyes checked last Friday. There is something wrong: too much pressure on her optic nerve. The Dr. wanted to know if we had Glaucoma in our family-I do not think so. He is also concerned that t tumor could be putting on the pressure. At this point in time we do not know anything for sure, but I ask for you all to pray that whatever it is , it is treatable. She will have the next battery of tests on This upcoming Friday. (That is likely to continue to be more diagnostic than conclusive.)

Ed and I spent the morning on the internet looking for a possible car to purchase. I spent the afternoon on the internet looking for ideas for invitations for our Anniversary party. (Sue is cracking the whip for action and decision.!!!!!)

My A1C test came back in a good range. I do not think the numbers add up. Fo the nurse had me get a new glucose meter., as she figured that the meter is old and may be giving bad readings. Well the new meter is still giving me high readings. So I do not know the answer. I wlll call the doctor some day and see what she wants to do about it.

Ed is busy with finishing our taxes and and working bit by bit on his projects.

Today, I had a call from one of my old friends from the convent. A couple months ago , she had toput her husband in a home because of dementia. She was feeling sad and still getting used to it. Another friend from Duluth has terminal cancer and has been told to go and enjoy the next two months of her life-then the doctor will decide if they should do any chemo. My guess is that there will be no chemo. When we hear stories like that, we know we are still very , very blessed at this time.

    Will close. Love, Mary C
