Hey, the pics look pretty good - looks like everyone was enjoying themselves. It was great to hear Julie was able to join the group. I hope you are able to keep her in the loop as I am sure it can be pretty lonely for her all alone now in Clinton - that is, without brothers and sisters. Glad to hear Mary will be spending some time with her. Everyone here were pretty well involved in different family activities over the past weekend. Katharine's parents are in town for Nicole's graduation this weekend. We are taking Nicole out for dinner tomorrow night and then will attend her graduation this weekend. Tim took three of his girls to Cleveland for an Irish dance contest on Sunday - they all did very well so now must compete this coming weekend in downtown Detroit (at least it's close to home). We picked up an elderly couple that our kids trade-off taking to Holy Mass every Sunday and took them for a wonderful dinner at Brad, Wendy and family on Monday. Albert had just returned from a week long trip to Japan on Saturday and was still trying to figure out what day of the week it was. They spent yesterday with their friends that went to Rome with them. I spent the past several days reading "Jesus of Nazareth" by Pope Benedict - you all must get it and read it!!!! This book should be a text book for a two year course on Christology and the reality of Jesus as God and the reality of His present in our history. It is a book that made me thank God and our parents for having me baptized in the Catholic Church. What a profound gift!! We have just a couple more events to attend that the grandchildren will be performing in and then summer will be in full swing. I must tell you, there is never a dull moment here!! By the way, now that you are all congregating in the Chicago area, we are only a four hour drive away and you are always welcome to come our way to visit. It is like a nice summer resort here and you are always welcome to come and enjoy. Must close as the Detroit Pistons are about to play ball again and I have to root for their victory to keep our grandsons happy. God bless you all. Deacon Joe
Just to let you all know, we welcomed grandchild number 26 into the world this morning at 6:59am. Nora Bernedette Lennon came a month early at 5lbs, 14ozs, and 19 in. long. Both mother and daughter seem to be doing very well but because the baby is premature, they do extra tests to make sure all is well. They may be home tomorrow late but for sure Monday. As usual, we give thanks and praise to Almighty God for the gifts of these children. Beth took the three older girls to their Irish dance competition and will be home around 7pm and I have the rest of the family and we are all doing very well. God bless you all. Deacon Joe
