Now that I am no longer flat on my back....got a mega bacteria....Kathe and I both got exactly the same thing at about the same 24 hour period so we were walking wounded or as we would refer to ourselves as "invalids"...WOW....that sucked!
Happy St. Pat' Day to all. Kathe and Tom and Roseanne and one of Kathe's friends and of course moi are headed out to the Celtic Festival at the Arboretum...Buffet from 4 different countries and some Irish gigging or giggling or probably both....music dancing, etc. You can tell our ages are creeping up and we are now part of the AARP group people who finish up festivities at 9 PM....
Last Sat Kathe and I drove to Iowa and saw Obama at his Clinton rally. Shook his hand and he sure is cute and articulate...I will post my famous photos when I get my camera back tonight. I left it in the Manny's Bar....yes can you imagine and Mary Jo saved the day. Karen was with her folks (Pat was assigned body guard duties...he was so cute with his big pistol) ha ha and Julie also joined us at Manny's then it was back to my home by late night and we crashed. We figure we got the bug in Clinton....damn it!
Missed many social activities this week including my visit to the Museum of Science to see the Human Body 2..I had to give my ticket away. Trying to see if Julie and Bev want to come in..
Pat and his gang all saw it last weekend. They loved it
Well, I need to get back into my medicare bed as I am still weak from my days down so I shall sign off. Love to you all and let's hear what ya'll did for St. Patty's!!!!!!! m
Sorry to hear you were sick, girls, Peg and Kath, but hopefully you are now all recovered unless some of that St.Pats green beer or wiskey, left you less than ideal.
ReplyDeleteI find it funny to hear you talking as if you have one foot in the grave and a "medicare" person. Hey wait until you are really old, like the rest of we elders!!
!For our St.Pats celebration at school, one of the childrens mom came in to give a presentation on Ireland, since she was born and grew up there.Around the Armagh area. She said her school had several teachers by the Lennon name. One was Margaret, one of her favorite teachers, but she said many Lennons lived in her community. I of course told her that we,(Roseanne and I) have been looking for great grandfather, Bernard for years, but have no idea where he was born or his parentage. She said in her part of Northern Ireland there were quite a lot of Lennons. This of course reawakened my enthusiasim to get back to seeking Bernard. Sure wish we knew someone who knew his fathers name. Her presentation was very thorough and we had our usual Irish stepdancers come to perform. Then the end of my day was our churches, every fri during Lent, fish fry ,which I attended with my friend Patti Shanahan. You cant get much more irish than her.
And we both wore our "Everyone loves and Irish girl" t-shirts, compliments of Target. I love wearing the green even though Im an celt by marriage. Ok, now lets hear how the rest of you celebrated clover day.
Hope you all are keeping up on reading Kevin's website. Sounds like he is enjoying the rough, tough, rigors of army life. I love the way he describes it to the last detail. What a flair for writing. Bonnie
ReplyDeleteJust thought I would let the family know that Kevin's birthday is March 31. I think he would appreciate cards on that day. Things are going well with us. Just had our house valued and are getting ready to put it on the market. we had a couple look at it last Sunday before we list it and they gave us an offer already. Kind of exciting. Have to go as I am writing this at school. Love, Mary Jo
