Christmas Eve at My House

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care (the punch was made) as were the appetizers as Kathe arrived with her two daughters and a pot of her famous turkey soup. Norb joined us and so there it is...I will attach a picture or two...The spritz cookies were out and Norb brought his Dad's famous carrot cake..oh my gosh it is good... and we hung out for a while before I went to sing at Midnite Mass with my Parish. It was my first time singing in the choir and it was a real joy!
Very shortly I will head out to Kathe's home where I hope to see Roseanne and Tom, Pat and Mary JO ( she has made her totally fab lasagna) and Emily will be there as well. We know Julie is in Clinton with her sons and her granddaughter for this year. We hope to see Kevin this weekend as well as Jo and Bob are planning to drive in.
Great to receive greetings from our brothers! Thanks you guys Once again
Merry Christmas to You All Much LOVE, peg maggie

Glad to know that Kevin has gotten in, as he wished and will be eager to hear how he progresses in his training. So Brett is in Italy, Where? what city?
And please put a last name to Roseannes "Tom", who must be keeping her very busy since she has not blogged for a long time. In fact, has not answered even personal e-mails. ( Or maybe she is keeping "her guy" in witness protection program!!!} Kathe, your home looks spectacular, from the photos put on Blog. But, I still dont have a snail mail address for you. Please send. Hope your christmas card was forwarded.
Our Christmas was spectacular with a quiet Christmas eve supper at Sarah's where Laura, Sarah and Jackson and Emma and I had Sarah's tradtional bacon wrapped scallops, shrimp, sangria, and of course the 8 different kinds of cookies that Sarah always makes.I exhited at 10;30 to go for warm ups to sing at Midnight Mass where Laura joined me for the service. We had a surprise this year. Right after father's homily, the lights went out from a power failure leaving only the altar candles burning to light the whole church. While ushers and music ministy folks scuffled to find more candles, as even auxiliary lighting had failed, I thought about feeling my way out to my car for a battery lantern. But Laura later confessed that she had come to Mass wishing it was a total candlelit mass and she figured God had granted her wish. A Christmas miracle. The choir had to cut our last song. We could not read the music nor could the instrumentalists. {Limited candlelight}Going to communion in total candlelight was really awesome.
Christmas day was at my neices home about 45 minutes away and we girls all gathered again minus Sarah's children who went to their fathers at noon Christmas Day.
My sister Bette was up from Florida whom I had not seen since baldness, so she expounded about my new curly locks, which she was certain were darker than my previous haircolor. God does work in mysterious ways. Wishing you all a glorious and grand New Year. Love, Bonnie
