Looking forward to seeing Mary and Ed end of month. Having fun now able to visit with Julie via email and FacebookKathe now driving and shopping a little. Seeing her hopefully this weekend for an overnight visit. Hopefully with couple of our other gal relatives hung out with Layla Norb and Alicia and Brett last Fri eve and what a gas that wasFred and Beth had a gala night as best we could tell. AGAIN BIG CONGRATS. my biz humming along and had time with Roseanne last week in downtown Chicago. Hope to Breakfast Club soon with Pat and Mj. Not much in touch with Mike or Tom lately so chirp i with comments. Are comments still problematic let Pat know so we can figure it outJulie has invited us for a special Baptism for Chelsea in May and Layla has her first birthday party in La Grange on March 3. My dance card is getting full!!Jo and Bob also excited about visit with Mary and Ed. No or little snow herenand we are all happy. Well my unverse is out aAGAIN so off I go for my two hour fix it bye.

I am here. Just got back from. Candlelight inn with Bev, and Chealsa. Had the most wonderful Prime Rib you ever tasted. It was grilled with onions, mushrooms and red peppers. O my. Had a margarita with it. Talk about being in heaven. Anyway, wanted you to know that. Chealsa 1st communion is May 20th. Please keep that date open if you can. A party with food will be at Chealsa house or at Low Moor. We are enjoying watching all the videos on my iPad tonight. So fun. We will be going to bed soon as tomorrow will be a long day. Hello Lennons Happy 2012
I heard this week from Alicia and Norb that Layla took 2 or 3 steps on her own and I heard from Grandma Kathe that she also took 2 steps without her cane yesterday! These we can rejoice in!!
Julie has just completed a 7 day stint of living with and caring for Kathe; they all celebrated without me last night at a pizza party with Pat and Mj. Kathe's docs are very pleased with her progress. Kathe said you would not believe who channeled Mary Lennon and was from dusk to dawn caring for her, feeding her, rehabbing her PLUS cleaning in her house. The only thing missing were the two baked pies by 6 am....Julie you are a doll! Kathe sounded so good this week having her there so may I say for all of us siblings THANK YOU for giving up your own time and your work week to do this!!
Kathe said it is darling to see her at her new ipad tapping away. She still is in a learning curve so please answer her emails etc to keep her interested.

Roseanne got back from 10 days in Pittsburg with Uvey and her growing and adorable family. So many cute pics on her daughter's Facebook page to enjoy showing their Christmas Roseanne is booked to do a massage on Kathe at the end of January so we all will visit then...

Fred and Beth of course are having an awesome party for their 50th as we all know...I so wish I could go. Congrats to both of you and I can just see that big beautiful family making it a great occasion. Please keep us up to snuff via some pics and I am in awe of anyone who can stay married like you guys for this number of years!

Pat had catarract surgery on his second eye and says all is going well; Mary Jo went to Iowa Thursday during the snowstorm to say good bye to her brother's father- in -law in Clinton; I personally have not heard too much from Mike (I saw you did try to skype me last week though) and Nancy and no news right now from Ed and Linda (hope that means good news of course) Talked to Joanne last night and all is quiet there
Jennifer's Katie was driving through from Oklahoma City to bring her a washing machine and they were awaiting arrival last eve: Nettie has moved back to Honolulu to care for her ailing Auntie Eleanor but is keeping her apartment for whatever many months or years she is away for now; Tom has been in good contact with Kathe and she enjoys hearing from him when they can talk....Mike I know she got to chat with you too. Julie and Mary and Ed are getting connected with Julie's ipad lately and I think Julie will really enjoy being able to communicate more easily with the family...do not forget her Facebook Page is a good place to write her messages as she knows how to retrieve those easily.
To me, the snow is yummy...Last night went out into the dark, cold and snowy streets to meet my staff for an annual holiday dinner in downtown La Grange, Il where I work. It was a lot of fun and everyone raved about the food at a place called Marconi's....I plan to walk at the Mall these days when snow is around, but my twinkle lights outside on my deck make it all look gorgeous. (Thanks Kathe for the lights) Today is dedicated to taking my Xmas tree down so will get going now to do some work around here... Practice going well and I thank God every day for that..I am blessed that I can start over so to speak! Without my family supporting me this last year, do not know where I would have landed...Love to you all! P

Hi everyone! As Juliegets ready to leave after caring for me for

the past week, I justwanted to let all of you know we do have an

"angel amongst ourmidst". She is truly a servant of the Lord and

a sisterthat I am most proud of and hope to emulate. Not only did

she give up a week ofher hard-earned vacation time, but she brought in home-made treats, cared forevery single need I had (which were MANY, including having to come into the showerto hold me up even though she was fully clothed! (Hey, Sue, at least she didnot have to shave my legs because I'm on Coumadin and we coudn't risk anybleeding. Ha! Ha!) THEN, between tending to my every need, she thoroughlycleaned out every crack and corner of my house. I kept telling her to sit andrelax, but she would have nothing to do with that!!!!! Never did she moan orgroan or act

resentful that she wasthis 24/7 fantastic caregiver.

We laughed, we cried,and we made many great hilarious memories!

I will miss her greatly,but I wanted all of you to know that we

are so blessed to havethis sister who has the grace she brings to this family and to those in need.MOM AND DAD, YOU DID A GREAT JOB! God bless her dear, dear soul. Please let herknow how grateful you are for standing by to take care of one of your siblingswhen she was so desperately in need.

I, of course, also hadmy other nearby siblings and children help out as best they could considering theyall work. Pat sat in the

doctor's office (at therequest of my children who couldn't make it)

so that another adultcould talk with the doctor and make sure I

was making the rightchoices, my children stood by my bedside as I

came outof surgery, Mary Jo came and sat by my bedside until I

woke up the first nightbecause they didn't want me to be left alone, Brett brought me home from thehospital and spent days with me, Peg and Julie came and stayed up most of thenight tending

to my many, many needsand pain on my first night home, and then

Julie came in for theweek's stay. Peg, of course, all many times during the day and evening andalways left me on a high note with silly laughter. Roseanne is coming in twoweeks to use her healing touch of massage to "console" this body thathas been battered by serious surgery and many, many drugs. I also had manycalls and prayers from the siblings that do not live nearby.

This has made me realizewhat a GREAT idea it was for Mom and Dad

to have so manychildren!! Ha!

Again, as I am nowmostly off the drugs and I am walking with a

cane, I want you to allrealize how special you are to me and what a sacred moment in time with myfamily and my God this has been.

We are a truly blessedfamily!

This all took me back to31 years ago when Ed arrived immediately to the hospital when he heard about mycar accident on the television news, Bonnie came and sat by my bedside everysingle day I was in the hospital, as well as Steve, Steve's sister, Lisa, andSue Fleege put their lives on hold to come care for me, Joanne came up to takecare of me, and Mom and Dad were faithful soldiers who lugged over to my houseeveryday to help put me on the toilet and make sure my needs (and Emily's) weretaken care of.

Thank you all for beingthe good and faithful people Mom and Dad

Heading over to Kathes tonight for NYEVE. Julie is on her way and Pat And MJ ARE JOINING IN FOR SOME CHILLINAND CARDGAMESRoseanne heads back from Uveys tomorrow and I get to have a day off Monday. My real Xmas vacation!,Looking forward to perhaps skyping soon. I am not enjoying typing on my iPad keyboard so gonna go do some ball exercises and a bath and head to our party.Hoping Julie gets up on her email soon so we will encourage her toniteKathe is now getting herself up at night and out of her swingy chair alone. Brett has spent several days with her and heads home this eve....not sure who will be with her in the upcoming week as we all head back to work...keep her in your prayers. Finally, a moment to breathe.....Kathe is coming along well. Julie and I looked like Lucy and Ethel taking care of Kathe but we have heard that Emily, Brett, Alicia Norb and Mary Jo have stepped up and helped LARGE
and even Julie and I are still speaking and think we did a good job....huh huh.......:)
We had some yummy treats at Kathe's home on Xmas Day.....she had one eye open most of the time but I did laugh today when she stated that now that her drugs are wearing off, she keeps discovering more gifts she received and did not remember getting them H aaa haaaa Heaven on earth must be spelled: drugs
As for me I am back at work for a short week and frankly a slow week (imagine not wanting to get an adjustment during Christmas week!!!) We loved watching our precious Layla dig into her gifts....she loves tearing away at the paper.......WHAT FUN though

I hope to take some time to write thanks for my lovely gifts so everyone bear with me on that count.
and after playing with Julie's new ipad (she is now on email and facebook AND has a new HD TV thanks to Kevin and you all bros and sissies).......I have decided I too need an ipad so asked Pat to pick out my new model so maybe now I too will do skype or facetime with my bros and sisters...........................watch out Mike and Joanne.....

Julie comes back in this Sat to stay with Kathe.....MJ Pat me will join them on Sat nite for a game night with some chilli soup and some cherry pie with MJ.....so we will be thinking of all of you that night....grateful for successful surgeries for Linda and Kathe, that we all have jobs, and we still pretty much like to hang together, that we have such fun ways to stay in touch, that we actually know how blessed we are and are ready to roar into the New Year with faith and love....HNY to each and every one of my family and their loved ones! Merry Christmas to All !!
Kathe, Julie and I are sitting in Kathe's living room with Christmas music, fire roaring, presents under her tree and bright sun and lake vista and homemade banana bread thanks to Julie, hot coffee and we are thinking of all of you Lennons and outlaws this morning!We await the arrival of Brett Alicia Norb and of course lovely Layla Rae.....
We were up several times during the night helping her and drugging her appropriately but she is definitely getting stronger and able to visit for short periods before dozing off.

Kathe is sitting up and now doing her therapy as we enjoy the Christmas Day we have been blessed with.

Kathe wants me to relay a message: Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts of me during my surgery and recovery time. Thanks for a multitude of family members I am recovering slowly but nicely thanks to all of their healing touches. It is exhausting work and all cannot wait for the next shift but I now appreciate so much more what Julie does for a living...Amazing!! Here's to a Healthy Happy Day Today and Upcoming New Year!! Hi Talked to Kathe last night and appears she is dismissed as of this morning and Brett plans to take her to her home where Julie and I will be joining her tomorrow for a couple of days. I believe Em is also checking on her later this eve. Thank You God. She said she feels great and her therapists say she is doing very well indeed
Julie and I will sit around the tree tonight and finish wrapping presents. Tomorrow night we will be with Kathe. Alicia and Norb are having their annual Xmas Eve party with a new Baby Layla for her first Christmas and all the Perry's will be in their home. We will miss that as that is always a grand affair.
Mary Jo and Pat leave this am for Madison. Roseanne is already with her Uvey....and all the children. I finish work about 1 PM today and have four days off so am really looking forward to some rest.!

Love to you all Merry Christmas and please post your STuff here......Kathe will hopefully write something here soon and I extend for her all thanks for the prayers and calls and concerns!! XXX

Hi Just got back from several hours with Kathe...We were able to have talk time and we had some lunch together. I saw her walk around her bed with her walker and her therapist and after a wee bit of massage on her neck and lots of morphine...she seems to be coming along very well. Brett came to stay as I was leaving about 4 pm. Her nausea is less of an issue now as they are balancing her pain meds.

Everyone was pleased who worked with her that all is coming along....I know she would love phone calls and visits with family as she will be two more days there and then Brett will bring her home on Thursday.

Hi dear aunts and uncles!

Just wanted to give you an update on your sister Kathe. She came through her hip replacement surgery this morning just fine. She's resting in her room now but becoming more alert all the time. She will stay here at Edwards hospital in Naperville (630-527-3000 room number 3605) until Thursday most likely and then head home to begin her full recovery. Not the most ideal way to spend Christmas, but she's a trooper! Hope you are all well!

Kathe had an all went well, successful surgery according to her surgeon. Alicia and Emily were at the hospital all day and reported the remaining issue is severe nausea from the drugs given. She hurts of course. I am heading over there now Tuesday for a few hours and am going to see if she is awake enough to say hello. Mary Jo was also one of the first visitors already last evening and she reported a very "tweepy" little baby.

I shall blog a few comments when I get back. ALL prayers are appreciated as she has quite a journey ahead of her of course! Love P

Also Kathe has her surgery at 7:30 Monday am Dec 19 Please keep her in your prayers tonight and for the next few weeks as her recovery begins...Alicia and Em are going to be with her and I hope then to head over Tue to check on her.. Julie and I will be frequent visitors after Julie heads in this weekend for our Christmas Celebrations. AHHH a glorious time of the year and Chicago with its first dusting of snow Sat when we awoke. Roseanne and I got together for a few hours Sat to shop in Hinsdale and have a Xmas lunch....Then MJ and Kathe and I saw HUGO in 3D last night. MJ and I loved it...Kathe not so much but we three gals had a ladies night out that was very fun.

Today Sun is shining and Kathe arrives at 1 ish to then head over to a little gathering at Emily's house.
We are looking forward to a fun afternoon.....Love to you all and yes, Ed so glad to hear of Linda

We have been told we will be discharged this afternoon. They did find bug in liquid build-up in abdomen (has lots o's & c's in name) so we can kill it. Have to come back for tests next Fri. then if all goes well, won't be back till end of March. Linda is ecstatic!! Hope all of you have as joyous a Christmas as we will.

On a more serious note today, I will post this news from Ed about Linda:

I should be use to this by now, but it's frustrating for both of us. Monday night, before our departure home, Linda passed out twice & her blood pressure dropped a lot. I got her to Mayo emergency where the decision was made to re-admit her. She was acutely dehydrated.

She was having pain in lower abdomen & got low grade fever. They found liquid build-up in belly cavity. For us lay people, this sounds catastrophic, to the liver Drs., it's another day at the office!! Hydration solved blood pressure problem. They drained her belly area, 3 liters. It was not toxic, which could have been deadly. Her liver is doing well & if they can identify cause of low grade fever, she could still come home this week.

I'm not making bets on it, but remain hopeful. Linda is upbeat but just wants to come home. Please keep her in your prayers a little longer.

Our dear sweet on- her-feet -all -day sister Kathe is finally having to succumb to hip replacement surgery on Dec 19th. She hashad more and more issues with it in the last few years so the time has come! Since she fractured her pelvis in the car accident, she is happy she has had this many good years without having to have the hip replaced (thanks to her good living and chiropractic care of course (that is my plug))!!
I am sure she will do well and please keep her in your prayers.
I heard through the grapevine (Julie) that Linda went home today! We are all excited to hear of this and makes us all know that is the best Xmas present you guys can give us during these here Holiday!!!
Bonnie thanks for reminding us how proud you are of your daughter Sarah who graduates with a 4.0 We share in that pride and hope you celebrate with much zest!!!! She is amazing.

Kathe and I are going shopping for a bed for her as she claims there is an outline of her body in her present mattress which could be a problem for her post surgery healing support...so off we go. We may do a "Layla" drive by as we will be in their hood and we hear that Layla now crawls over to the big picture window in their living room and stands up with her hands on the glass and looks out at the BIG NEW WORLD which she cannot wait to discover!!! Maybe her wee little face will be in the window when we pull up.

Julie and Bev are in downtown Chicago as we speak today. They are having a weekend at the Palmer House for their enjoyment of all the sites and some shopping. We were going to try to meet but when time is short and you just want to relax, trying to meet up becomes a job...I am heading tonight into chicago for a play on the North Side...so my dance card is filled up for today

Saw Brett yesterday and he too is going to be in downtown Chicago at the Skating Rink with a friend...and what a glorious day it is with sunshine so that sounds fun. He is driving up to see Fred and Beth and their family after his finals this week and he is really looking forward to that....we told him what a great host and hostess F and B are and their family is a real joy to be around.

Roseanne and I are getting together for a wee bit next Saturday as she comes out to the burbs from her city digs to do some "country girl" things with me.... We are both hooked on Lifetime Movies now so glad she got a life and discovered this!!

Ed and Linda..let us know all that you can I have not heard much from Mike and Nancy Ed and Mary Fleege but did get to talk to Joanne last week and she was making beef and noodles...it sounded all so good...Tom and Bonnie will be busy celebrating the graduation I believe this weekend so we are so blessed to be able to be so busy and active!! Talked with Jo for a while tonight and she was asking about our visit with Julie in Clinton over TDay...Kathe and I drove out there to have the day with Julie....We visited with Brian as well at Manny's. We were able to make time to go the the gravesite and Jo was wondering what it was looking like....Also wanted to make sure our nieces and nephews got their fix...ha ha ha ha....
Hoping to hear from Ed soon more about Linda....Kathe is looking at perhaps hip surgery?? not sure yet but she hurts right now....Nettie is leaving St. Charles to go live in Hawaii for a while to care for her auntie....Just wondering what everyone is planning for their Christmas....
Pat and MJ and I had bfast last Sunday .....Sat I got to join Roseanne downtown for our Christmas Carol in live theater and we even squeezed in a great meal...She loves her new digs and is happy about gaining about 10 hours a week (no long commuting)

Yeah!!! Finally out of hospital. We moved to Inn at Mayo 4420 Mary Brigh Dr. Jacksonville, Fla. 32224 Rm. 228. Many daily out patient tests & follow-ups. If we have no major set-backs, we could be back to Ocala by mid December. Can't wait!!! We know this is a life long project, but we hope the worst is over.

Again, words can't express the support everyone has shown in so many ways. We thank you from our hearts.

Linda will be discharged Mon. or latest Tues. We will move to Inn @ Mayo for 3 wks as tests will continue as out patient. All but one tube removed & it comes out today or tomorrow. She is doing great & ansious to get out of hospital. We are hopeful to be home by Christmas. Again, our heart-felt thanks for your prayers, cards, e-mails, & phone calls during this difficult but successful journey. We hope to thank all of you in person soon. God bless.

What a difference a day makes W/some sleep makes. Linda doing much better. Sat up yesterday & walked some. Liver doing good & kidneys better. Some dialysis needed on & off. Drs. are all smiles. Probably move her down to 3rd floor T-Day. Good news as it is more quiet & means she is doing well. Will be road-bumps but hopefully not set-backs. Linda was a little blue yesterday, but when she looked up & saw all the cards from family & friends I plastered around her room, she knew she would get through this. I thank you all for your support & prayers. I also read all your e-mails to her. She wanted me to wish all of you a wonderful T' Day & hug your loved ones.

Linda went back to surgery last night. Bleeder. Think they got it. Talked to Dr. 11:30 last night & he was confident. We took her off respirator 5:00 a.m. & she told me they didn't get it off fast enough. Vintage Linda!!! Doing much better this morning. Numbers look good. Those that know Linda will appreciate that as they took her down for surgery, she got Drs. & nurses to sing " Don't Take My Sunshine Away". Love this women!! She is in room #418. Your prayers are working so, keep them coming.

From Ed 1Pm Sunday following the liver transplant and some complications being fixed:

Surgery went well. Better than they expected. Some issues with blood pressure & kidneys. A little bleeding. All issues not unusual. Still on respirator due to those issues. Still a rough road ahead so all prayers welcome. I haven't said this many prayers since the nuns made me do it as a kid!! Thank you all for cards, emails, & phone calls. Love- Ed

Thank you for the cards. It boosts Lindas spirits. She was stable enough last Thurs. that we thought she would be discharged. It would be only if we stayed in area for a time. Didn't happen. For every step forward, we go back a step & a 1/4. Still in Mayo Hospital.

They brought a heart specialist in & he wants to redo heart catheter to recheck numbers. He is hoping her aortic valve is not as dilated as thought. That would allow them to do liver now & heart later. Pray he is right as her risk factor drops a lot if he is right. We think it will be done tomorrow. Waiting for firm answer.

I moved into Inn at Mayo hoping Linda would be discharged. It has kitchenette, etc. Still hoping.

She is being tube fed as food is hard to keep down & we need to put 2000-2500 cal. a day into her.

She is a very sick girl & with meds (steroids) she can get weepy, but holding up well. Very tough to see her like this.

News from Ed Lennon today Monday Nov 7
Linda is stable & off respirater. Her heart needs aortic valve but too risky to perform with liver problems. They have decided to do both liver & fix heart @ same time. Very high risk but alternative is obvious. She has jumped on to transplant list & will go from this room into surgery when liver becomes available.
She has been deeply touched by all your words & prayers. She is alert but tires easily. They even made her get up & march yesterday!! She was very proud so we didn't tell her her feet only got an inch off the ground!!!
Keep her in your prayers.

As you may all know, Ed is with Linda in Jacksonville FLA after she was medivaced (sp) there with concerns about her organ instability issues. Those who joined us for that most beautiful weekend in Chicago started off with a Saturday morning trip to downtown Chicago. Pat and Mary dressed the part and enjoyed making their voices know. Meanwhile, Roseanne, Mary Jo, Julie, Ed and I went into downtown Hinsdale to do some errands and walk around. We found an outdoor HOT DOG joint and sat and visited in the great day.
Sat afternoon Kathe, Alicia, Brett, Norb and Layla came by for our deck party. I will put some pics on here but others did take some much better shots. But for now, I will add some and then take some down time to walk outside today

Sunday, Mary Jo and Pat hosted all of us and we got to see Jan and Tom and Phil Fleege and his lovely wife Deb and their children for an outdoor BBQ with Pat's delicious burgers and brats. Again, we were so blessed with fine food and weather. We got to Skype with Mike Lennon and that was a nice fun addition to our afternoon.

Monday, Tom Jan Mary Ed Julie Kathe Pat and Mary Jo all joined up in La Grange to tour my new office and have a lovely noon lunch at the Palmer Place. No beers for me though as I had to work but we did love the food there as well

Monday eve Kathe and Julie came to my office to have a massage and Mary and Ed left to visit Phil and Deb for a few days. Julie just left this morning to return to Clinton. She was teary eyed as she so loved being all a part of this! You guys, it was great I crashed into bed myself after a long bath last night but I look back and saw it was all worth the effort in seeing you all! We send our love to Ed and Linda, Fred and Beth and Jo and Bob as well even though they could not be with us...we thought you would enjoy some pics!! Love for now P

My post was to tell you that your big brother won a trophy yesterday in the 5K Ginny Jog, for Alzheimers. He came in first in his age catagory, so also got a plac for master winner. Little Jackson was 9th in the overall race and won a trophy for first in his age catagory. Likewise Ginny, Laura, Amanda, and Emma also were in first for their age group. So lots of trophys. Quite a day for the Lennons! Six trophies.

Then Laura made Thomas a belated cake, {Iowa choc of course} to celebrate his birthday at IHOP after the race.

I just signed on and found some new options for the blog. I found 3 pending comments so posted them and am not sure why they said they were from 2007.....what the ????? Anyhoo, I am hoping to post some Freeport pics and a wee narrative and then ruminate together over our upcoming weekend. By the way, Happy Belated Thomas Lennon. I just have had no time to blog. But I hope to be able to do a better job for a while...let us see. Bonnie, you had some interesting news about my big bro.....he say what?????

Hey, so Kathe and I and Pat got into our car and did a mini road trip to Freeport so we could......you guessed...eat TACOS to be specific at the Mannys there since the one in Savanna burned down. Julie could not join us as it was BEV's big 80 birthday and she of course wanted to celebrate that with her.... Mary Jo, Marianne, Ryan and Lily joined us as did Karen; Emily had a class reunion in Freeport so she and Serj joined us as well; We were so noisy when we arrived ( it was Pat) that we got escorted to a lower level party room where we made merry. We visited the local park and Kathe did a House Tour with Em and Serj to show him the plethora of homes Kathe lived in while in Freeport. It is truly a darling little city and I enjoyed riding a "snoring" Pat around to show him where I used to live...

I am going to post a few pics of our trip to Freeport...I am so sorry we did not get photos of Marianne and Ryan and Lily as we were drinking by them but that Lily is a little dollie!!!!!

I will also see if I can post a couple of Pumpkin Farm pics from the weekend before when Kathe and Em and Alicia and Layla invited me to join them for the Pumpkin thingie....

We are soooo looking forward to the arrival of Mary and Ed, Tom and Jan, Mike and Jimmy, Julie from Clinton, Roseanne from downtown Chicago ( she is in love with Chicago by the way and all of us looking forward to seeing Laura on Nov 11) No Ed No Fred and No Joanne but they are in our thoughts and prayers and feel you in spirit. Okay, I started the last blog to let everyone know that Beth got in a head on collision near her house on Mon eve. Thank God, Fritz heard the crash and went to check it out and found Beth in a crumpled car but relatively in good shape. Bonnie and Beth. I actually have time this weekend, the first in a good many weeks, to gossip a bit.

Looking forward to seeing Laura Lennon this Tue eve in downtown Chicago as she dines there with Roseanne and I and hopefully Alicia (maybe Layla and Norb...we are not sure)

Roseanne has a new swish downtown apartment now in Chicago on Wells and she has related the joy of commuting ten minutes to work instead of about an hour or more one way...YeAH!!!

Beth, so good to talk with you today and hear your perky voice and hear that you are doing fine after your head on collision. THAT is a miracle, agree?

I heard that young Kevin was in town last week..Alicia and Norb and Layla had dins with him..so we hope to see him in his next visit?? and yes Kevin, are you now moving to Georgia????

Do Tell

I moved into a much smaller office this last month. I have shared space with a young buck chiropractor for about a year and a half in my larger office (23 years) and he found a spanking brand new wee darling officeso we moved August 5 We share the rent and continue to take care of our own patients on our opposite hours. I am learning to be a "roomie" and of course God has his work cut out but I am doing okay; I was able to de clutter my life and sold a lot of my extra equipment to a chiro from Georgia. Now I am decluttering my life of crap in my home and some debt and look forward to many good years of working in my profession.

Kathe is back at work teaching first grade now....Mary Jo continues to be reading specialist at her school; Pat is working very part time although he did a big session in the Quad Cities for a Corporate Nonsmoking program and did very nicely..Julie keeps in touch and for all of you who want to know more about him, I know little except he needs our prayers as he derails off his life course and I will leave it to Julie to select what info goes out about him.

Pat and MJ and Kathe and I had a delightful visit with Jo and Bob in July 4th in St. Louis We saw Ann and her gorgeous family; Jackie and her darling son; David and his brood of beauties and Jenny and her beautiful girls.....it was a delight and we were pleased to see how mobile Bob was that day.

We know he struggles with some memory and so I say ME TOO but I do know Jo can tell more stories there.

I heard Nancy is doing great so Mike, keep us abreast of this and prayers to her as well.

Brett started college this week and he is delighted to be teacher's pet already mainly cause he has a brain and some innate intelligence and he is dealing with 19 year old little monkeys....

We wish him well in his new apartment and new life but still WE GET to see him when we wish. Very nice

Alicia of course has this wonderful family that we all adore (yes, we adore you Norb) and just got a raise at her corporation and she is beside herself.

Emily is successfully negotiating her corporate career and her life with very sweet man Serj

Remember now Columbus Day in October, Mary and Ed , Jo and Bob (?) Tom and Jan, Ed?? and Linda??, Pat and MJ Kathe and I and Roseanne and Julie are having the get together.

By the way, we heard Linda got on the transplant list and I am sure we need to remind them we are keeping her in our prayers. I heard good things happening at Mayo Clinic..is that in Wisconsin Bonnie or is there one in Florida too? Keep the postings going to add to the correct info here.

Special past month with Dad's death August 15 and at the ten year mark...amazing.. So sweet to see Brian's Website dedicated to them....

Leaving for Kathe's home down south so we can meet up with P and MJ for the long drive to St. Louis.

We cannot wait to see and hang with Ann (birthday girl) and her gang; David and his gorgeous family; Jenny and her babes; and we hope we see Jackie too!

Moving into a brand new office on August 1. I am praying with the lower overheads and more efficient office I can produce some healthy people for a few more years as the world turns less and less from a drug induced -society to a ton a well peoples!!!!

Mary wrote me to let me know she is okay after her ER visit; Mary Jo entered hospital two days ago with some sodium level issues and hopefully today she is improving; We know about our Baptism for Layla Rae now on July 24 yea...something not about illnesses...I stubbed my little toe yesterday and other than that I am on fire....looking to move August 1 into a smaller but newer office in La Grange...keep fingers crossed as permit not yet granted but waiting....Pat and Kathe and MJ and I are planning on a trip to St. Louis over 4th of July and excited about that...and of course Roseanne has a pretty solid offer on her home and she hopes to be moving into the city in the fall...Mike and Nancy, hope you are well and I have not heard from either of you nor from Tom since his visit to Iowa....this is our OLD method of staying in touch as facebook seems to be more active but every now and then, I get the urge to narrate the Chicago story...hoping Bob is recovering as well....So much stuff and so little time...gotta go and get some office work done now...so Happy Father's Day to all my bros and bro in laws!!!! Mothers Day

Roseanne had a special Mothers Day via her son Chritian's marriage in Carolina. Roseanne got to see her children and many of her grandchildren and she said it was a very special time. Pat and MJ we are sure were in Wisconsin with Marianne and co and Karen and co. We have not heard from them yet but we are sure they had a great time. Kathe got to babysit with her lovely Layla Rae while her parents were in Canada for a day and a night attending a wedding..and of course I got to piggyback that adventure and kiss our little Layla love a million times on her chubby cheeks.

And to all my sissy in laws who are great moms too, I send a special shout out and many good wishes that you had a great M Day also!!!

Life is busy....much going on so time is so limited on my blog time...but the Facebook is helping keep more of us connected and for my loving brothers, we hear the Skype is keeping them in touch....Remember this October folks...another time for family to get together so stay tuned.

Hi I am realizing how much our blog is now lying idle. I have a busy day and just do not have the time to hop on board. Quick stuff running through my mind: Brett is home and getting used to civilian life; Layla is a huggy buggy; Lily just had a birthday (as did probably several family members I have forgotten) Kathe and MJ and Pat and I had a long awaited Breakfast club meeting last Sat...on a gorgeous sunny morning; Jo Smith is keeping us up on Bob and how he is doing via the Facebook; Roseanne stayed overnight last Sat and we had fun watching the eaglets that Bonnie Lennon got our interest in....so adorable; I know the boys get on Skype a lot and catch up so I have not talked to Mike personally but hear he and Nancy are "getting along" a little better now; Fred's family is busy doing their beautiful school dramatizations and often wish I could attend!; good to see Mary on the facebook as well; Easter will be at my house and hoping Julie can come in this time; Kevin was in town briefly last Sat and stayed with Alicia and Norb; Kathe is loving being a grandma....Alicia and Norb are cute to watch parenting! I had the extreme joy and privilege of being around within the hour of Layla Rae Rucinskis's birth at Hinsdale Hospital yesterday afternoon! I received a phone call to my office that delivery was eminant so I picked up Brett and off we went.
Kathe and Emily were present during the birth as was Norb of course. At first we were only allowed to stand outside while things were being prepped for mommy and baby. Norb came out to greet us and talked about how he was doing and then OMG we got to finally see her and what a sight to see the exhausted parents so thrilled about their new daughter....who is simply beautiful. Her long black hair was in little ringlets on her head and she was quite dark pink. She has long eyelashes and long elegant fingers and bone structure but is only 5 and some pounds. She has a sweet little personality and is quite quiet and was able to nurse right away with her adorable little mouth and big lips. Emily and Kathe were in an altered state after being part of the birth. Brett was puffed up about his new role as Uncle and he was smiling from ear to ear.
Within hours, Grandma Rucinski showed up with Norb's bro Wren. Emily and I got to see her get her hair dried and brushed and cleaned up in the nursery as he examination was completed.
She had a great birth and appears in top health. She even got her first adjustment as I was able to palpate her little thoracic and lumbar spine and soon I will recheck her and her little neck bones. Remember the journey she had undertook was full of high pressure, twists and turns and it is good to optimize her nerves right way.
Last night, when we left mother father and Layla were doing great. We look forward to seeing her again very soon. God IS Good!! Love P
Kathe is so high! She soooo loved hearing from everyone on the Facebook and what a great family occasion that is right now. Mary Jo and Pat will meet us for breakfast this am.. we cannot wait. Roseanne has been recovering for weeks now from a horrific bronchial situation so has not really been able to participate but she is looking forward to seeing Layla soon too!

Norb's (and Alicia's f-in-law) Father Passed Away

Norbert Rucinski, Sr. Passed away Monday Feb. 21, 2011. He was suffering the last few months and was in pain. He was with his two sons and his wife.

THIS WEEK..Ed and Linda Anniversary

Last Saturday....what a blowout baby shower. Alicia and Em, you outdid yourselves. 40 people and all went smoothly...what food, what fun...what" Christmas "it was for Layla. The champagne was my favorite of course. Alicia posted great pics on her website for you all to see.

One week from today Brett flies into Chicago to establish his new home and life! We are so excited. Next Sat eve, we hope to spend some time sipping wine and catching up with him at DeeDee's home. What a blessing.

Last weekend, several of us Skyped again....Mary and Ed, Jo and Bob,Tom, Pat and myself. It was a real kick to be able to sit down and chat with Bob who has just discovered the joys of the family calls. We tried to connect with Mike but no cigar.. ( Julie had come in last weekend for the shower so we got to talk with Mike on Sat on Skype and received some health reports on both he and Nancy.) Remember you guys , my Skype conference trial period runs out on the 28th of this month so what now?

Martha Bates' 90th birthday is this Monday. Julie and I have Martha's address if either any of you wish to send her a card or whatver. I did hear that Tom called Martha and chatted with her this last week. Ed and Linda...congrats on your wedding anniversary also on Val Day!

Tonight, Pat is heading over to help me put in some new lighting (all my sissies are leaving the house so they do not hear all the swearing that will take place); Mary Jo and Kathe and I are hosting Phil Fleege and his family tonight also. I am starting a big pot of chili soup very soon so it is ready for tonight and we are so happy Phil and Deb and kids are heading our way. Phil now lives about 45 mins north of me here in Westmont. We had originally planned to play cards but we may just yak the night away which will be fun catching up.

Mary and Ed are taking a road trip very soon to see Jo and Bob, Julie , Tom I think? and also the Chicago gang. Hoping the roads are in good shape by that time....going onto the 40 degree mark this week, so hints of Spring you all!

Mary liked my S O C blog so here goes: working full time now, back always a wee bit sore and I sleep a lot but.,...., am so grateful for a furnace...a working furnace; a car....a working car; I am so happy I get to see and talk with my family and live near my Chicago siblings; I love to see how cute Alicia looks right now(in her third trimester); loved being able to do some yoga last night; loved Dana Carvey on Sat Nite Live last week...it was a trip back in time; I actually love the snow and love to walk in the snow; made a most DELICIOUS chicken breast dinner last night (if anyone wants the recipe let me know); hoping I can get my guests tonight suckered into flipping my mattress; have a new cover for my grill but have to wait for the last 2 feet of snow to come off the old on that is out there; Pat is lucky that I assist him in his electrical endeavors today; blah blah blah

Okay, so I am not sure....Jan 28 or Jan 29th...Who cares...let's celebrate our little sissy!!

Hopefully she will be in with us on Feb 5th for the Baby Layla shower AND a celebrating of her birthday this weekend. Alicia will have help hosting about 40 plus people at her bro in laws house on Feb 5th. Can you believe that? She is very POPALER as Jack would say. How exciting though!

Mike I understand is having some surgery I think this week so we need to keep him in mind as they decide what is going on with his salivary gland. With he and Nancy facing health issues together, that must be very very hard and so you know the drill. pray pray pray.

Pat, Mike, Tom and I and Mary and Ed were able to Skype as a group last week and it was such fun! Joanne tried to join in but could not arrive at the Skype place. We are hoping to set up some regular Chat sessions like that between all of us..It was just like sitting in a living room and yakking. I understand that Ed and Tom and Mike regularly talk together...Must be nice to be retired and all!!!

The snow is falling so beautifully here today in Chi-land...The East Coast is suffering badly though it seems....Fred, thanks for your sweet post about the Packers...very funny young man!!

I have a seminar all weekend so will not get to spend time with my siblings...but I hope you enjoy catching up with some of our activities here and await hearing more from you guys.

My favorite things today: I chatted with Jo Smith, I drove safely to and from work in snow and sleet and no accidents; I actually have work; Kathe and I spent a weekend doing so many fun things; I went for two walks in three days; Kathe and Roseanne and MJ had today off; I am reading Victor Frankl's book about being in a concentration camp and it made my life look good; I got a great Xmas letter from Fred and Beth; my car works, my hair has not fallen out and I have found a way to handle my beard; :) Trader Joe's has the best pesto tortellino; I am admitting to being a TV addict....so stone me; They (Alicia and Norb) have a new baby coming our way in two months and we are all excited; I got a role in my Bad Actor's Club this weekend; I loaded my new Skype (but have been bad and not used it yet..sorry Mike and Tom and Pat); Pat thanks for checking up on me and I have no more back pain.....all the best to Brett Perry on his birthday today and thank you MLK for showing perseverance of which I have little..I hope you are all well, healing, healthy or thinking about becoming healthy (try chiropractic...just saying ) Love...sissy P

January Follow Up

As we all know, Joanne had her birthday on Jan 2nd and looks like Facebook did a fine job of letting all of us connect with her! So belated again Jo Hope it was a Happy Birthday!!

Kathe and I spent our New Years in downtown Chicago again this year at the Palmer House hanging out with all the pretty people. This time though, we spent most of our time sleeping and eating free food on the executive floor. We did make it over to State Street to shop and Emily and her sister Ashly visited with us over hot chocolates in the lobby...so I guess this pretty much tells you the status of our social lives. We did not see Vince Vaughn this time over at the Drake so that was our last brush with fame....how is that for being lame on dragging up old stuff to namedrop?

Kathe, Roseanne, Mary Jo and I went to adorn our 3D glasses last night to watch Tangled at our favorite old time movie theatre. We had a blast and then 3 of us went out for a late night meal at Omega...remember that one guys? Roseanne shared some yummy pics of her wonderful visit that she and Christian enjoyed over in Pittsburgh with Uvey and her family and Dan and Gloria....what a hallmarky kind of Xmas that looked like and she was overjoyed to be able to do that... By the way, Sarah Calhoun....you ARE your mother's daughter with those outrageous cookies that you guys baked!!!!!!!!!! YUMMY Indeed.

Kathe is looking forward to her March baby Layla being delivered and Brett's return to Chicago to live in mid February. We pray for them both and that they both be blessed with what they want.

As for me, I am still toying with options in my business re downsizing. Been a rough year for me. Nothing completed yet, but I shall keep all posted. I have several options I am working on. I am back to a

full schedule now and my back, although re injured after the October rear ender, is serving me well and I am happy to report that!

Pat and Ed and Mike and Tom all skyped together yesterday. I hear it was great. So Pat, I am going to call you today to try again to download the new Skype. You can have groups on now and see each other like we used to do on that other video phone system. I look forward to trying to get back to Skyping more so I can see you. Pat and MJ let us Skype with them on Christmas Day. We saw Marianne Ryan lovely Lily and their relatives on that day and it was really really fun.

MERRY CHRISTMAS LENNONS!

As I awake to a most gorgeous Christmas Morning in Westmont, I think of all my great siblings all over the country celebrating with me in spirit! I want to say I love you all and hope your Xmas Day and upcoming year are healthy and happy and blessed!
Kathe invited me to the big Alicia and Norb Xmas Eve Gathering in La Grange Park last night. Unbelievable time and a meal to be remembered for a long time!! Our side of the family had Kathe, Brett, Emily, Alicia and myself and of course all the Perry's and Rucinskis. There was a huge dinner of turkey and ham (and mom's dressing of course, thanks mom) and all the trimmings and such ambience and Norb and Alicia are great host and hostess! Where else would Kathe and I have help to our car, our car windows scraped and all our goodies dragged into the backseat (thank you Norb and Alicia!). It was most stupendous. Sorry no photos as my camera was once again at my office.
Was so happily surprised Wednesday at my clinic when I looked up and saw Brett and Alicia AND Kevin...who was in town for a day on his way to the Andersen's to celebrate his Xmas Eve with his Dad and Julie. It was wonderful this week to see all these guys back home safe and sound. Roseanne met Christian at my home Wed morning (although I was at work) so they could get their car trip to Elizabeth's underway..so imagine all the soldiers hit Chicago this week and we are grateful for their safety and so happy they got this way at Christmas Time
Kathe and I were hoping Julie would come in for Xmas Day today but it looks like the weather scared her off. Brett is coming over this am so we can go to Xmas Mass together and hopefully hang out a bit..maybe a movie or just TV -fireplace time
The blog is such a great place to hear from all of you. Please let me know what you guys are doing this fine day. (Pat and MJ are in Madison with their gals and we hope to skype with them a little later today)
So fun to see those spritz cookies by the way on the facebook. Bonnie, you so inspired your daughter to make some dynamite looking cookies.
I will see if I can attach a couple pics of my backyard...I am sure it will be white with snow, just like yours! Love and many many Happy Xmas Greetings to you all.. P

Just a late night note to let you all know Brett arrived at 12:29 at OHare Airport. Alicia, Norb, Kathe, Peg and Roseanne were there to greet him. We will post pics as soon as I get my cable connected which seems to be at my office.
We all rode through sloshy weather to Lincoln Park where we ate at a Tapas Restaurant. We Sangria-ed our way through the afternoon and then Brett went to his Hotel where the Sal Guinta Entourage would be arriving to discuss the next few days of assignments. Kathe and Alicia and I sent Norb to a party and we three went to York town Mall to shop and walk. Roseanne returned to her home in Mokena. As we returned from the Mall, the icy conditions returned and we kind of slid into my driveway. The Girls (Kathe and Alicia) are staying with me tonight and I lit the fireplace and made them a wee bit of a meal late tonight. These are great times.
Tomorrow Norb Alicia, Steve and Kathe and I think Em are all going to be attending (thanks to Brett) the Bears Game at Soldier Field. Brett bought them all tickets. He and the Sal Guinta guy will be in a Box all warm and cozy throwing back a few beers we are sure.
With 50 mph winds expected and a blizzardy day to look forward to, we all know it will be worth every cool degree to support and be with Brett and Sal. We had a real dream day you guys out there. Stay tuned I took a gazillion pics so sooner or later they will be here.. Have a great weekend. I hope to fill you all in on our Holiday Activities.

For those who are asking, I will be deciding a lot about my business and as soon as I know what direction I will be heading I will share more. I want to change and restructure my business activities so as to get more help with my overheads and be able to work for many yrs. to come. Stay tuned. That is what I will be doing.:) Hope aboard

Brett Coming In Today!

Our soldier returns home to Chicago this afternoon at 12:45!! We are heading to the airport
shortly to anxiously await his arrival. He is coming home a week early for his Christmas
leave because the Army invited him to accompany Sal Giunta (the Medal of Honor recipient),
on a public appearance tour of Chicago this week. Sal is being honored during the Bears game
tomorrow, so Brett will be able to sit in the sky box with him. Brett bought Steve, Emily, Norb,
Alicia and me tickets (not for the sky box) to the game so we can be there. Brett gets to
accompany Sal, via police escort, to different events through the week! He is so thrilled to be
home...and we feel so blessed to have him home safe and sound!!!!
He will be home until January 3, when he goes back to Italy. Then he will return to Chicago on February 2 - done at last!!!
We will keep you posted with news and pictures as the holiday events unfold.

Great Indian Lennon Summer Weekend

Just have to publish some of the photos of the wonderful weekend. We missed you Jo and Mike of course as you both had wanted to come before your lives took different turns. Bob and Nancy are in our prayers.
Fri eve we joined Tom and Jan at her cousin's home in Lombard. A classy couple who hosted a classy evening. Patty Streicher even joined us on Fri eve as MJ and Pat and Julie and I and Patty were served a most delightful meal of grilled sausages and potato salad and homemade pastuka I believe it is called...Beer and wine and MJ pumpkin bars completed the eve. What fun and thank you Bob and Marianne.
The next day MJ and Pat hosted us at their home for MJ's most OUTRAGEOUS lasagna and lots of wine and long talks on the deck! We managed to talk about ALL of you and of course in a most loving manner....We had a lot of laughs and Pat put on his bonfire pit about 7 in the evening and the beautiful day continued till 10 that evening. Thank you Pat and MJ (too bad about the hangover Pat):)
Yesterday, Sunday, we visited the beautiful Park called Cantigny. I finally took photos and am going to post them here to share. Just talked to Tom and he and Jan did make it into the Museum of Science and Industry today (Monday) and they loved it very much..(Sleep well Mary and Ed and Pat and MJ) I personally get some final moments with Tom and Jan Tuesday as we go to a late breakfast early lunch thingie and they fly out about 3 PM...It has been a truly wonderful time together and I hope you can feel like you were with us viewing these pics. Talked to Joanne and she said she wanted to see a few more views of around Sabula....so here goes..She sounded good as Jenny and her gals were home, Kara celebrated Ethan's 8th birthday, the family got together and hung with Jo and Bob...She is more doubtful that she can come up this week, but we are very excited to see Tom and Jan and Mary and Ed. Mary is stopping in to see Phil and his family on Thur eve, Jan is inviting us to her relatives on Fri eve and then Sat and Sun we chicagogang will hang out and go to Mary Jo and Pat's on Sat and Sun. I am hoping to show the group some of the Arboretum....we shall see. Mike and Nancy are in their battle and we keep them in our prayers of course. Brett as you all know is OUT of Afghanistan and now in Italy and his tours of duty end and he plans to be out of the Army by March...We get to see him in Dec though and that will be cool. Kevin and Christian....where are you??? Julie comes in to stay at my home this weekend as well and very excited to have her here of course. She may stay over Monday and go downtown with Tom and Jan...Love for now

Today is Tom's day and here is hoping it was a grand birthday!
Roseanne and I took a road trip to Clinton as I mentioned. We saw Julie and Mary Jo, Pat , Marianne and lovely Lily joined us at Manny's. ?We did visit the graveyard but for the sake of the young uns sanity, we did not post a photo..ha ha. It was a dank wet day but we got some good shots of the uninhabited Farmhouse that we were all raised in. The clothesline impressed us the most so we put a shot of that in here as well. The countryside was gorgeous. Did not see Martha at all but passed by her house and took some photos of Miles School too.
So loving this fall weather and hope you are also.

We confirmed it with Tom..his birthday is the 28th. Kathe and I were lucky enough to catch him at his concert with Jan last Fri eve....it was good to hear your voice bro!. I send my love and happy birthday greetings and look forward to seeing you and Jan in October.
This Saturday, Pat and Mj are meeting Marianne and Ryan in Manny's for TACOS and PIZZA in Clinton Iowa We notified Julie and so Roseanne and I are leaving Sat am to head that way for a one day road trip. R and I are going to hopefully go to the old farm, drive past it and walk along the gravel road for a few minutes before we head to Clinton. Then we will visit the graveyard...perhaps we can post some photos for the nieces and nephews! :)Martha Bates, anyone??? Maybe we will see if she is home. Will post a photo perhaps?
Fall is here. It is beautiful. Let's absorb it before those first snowflakes...What is everyone doing for Thanksgiving? Mike sounds very positive about Nancy's health prognosis and of course that makes us very very happy indeed!!
Brett is definitely leaving Afghanistan on October 4th.. YEA and Kevin is being sent to live and work in New Jersey..maybe he will meet The Situation or Snookie??? Keep us informed.
Fred and Beth stayed overnight with their beautiful granddaughters a couple weeks ago..it was truly fun to spend time on the deck with them and then hit our favorite burger place....
Cannot wait to see Mary and Ed, Tom and Jan in October....Mary hopefully will let us know how her Phil is settling into the Chicago area... and let us know how her newly married grand daughter is doing.....Gonna go watch some murder mystery on TV...(blame Kathe for getting me even interested in that!) Updates from Chicago area today: Kathe and I were lucky enough to see the Tall Ships along Navy Pier..we will post photos today. Mike has shared with the family Nancy's health challenges and we will know more as the days progress. In spite of him, I told him we would hold her in our prayers for good results! I will not post updates on the blog but rather share what he wishes me to or I am sure he will email us as well. Fred and Beth and 4 grandchildren are visiting Chicago during the day Tue and I hope to talk him into some burgers that evening at my Schlog Restaurant. I am looking forward to seeing how their day went. Jo said Bob has his health issues with his knee and some memory loss so we expect to hear more about him as we go along as well. Roseanne leaves to see her Evey this weekend and Pat and MJ and I plan to spend some quality time together as they had into their busy school schedules. Julie knows that so far Pat and MJ and their families plan to hit Iowa to visit Clinton on Sept 25 and Roseanne and I are going to trip over as well and join all at Manny's. We also look forward to seeing Mary and Ed and Tom and Jan for sure and hopefully ALL our siblings (health issues yet) on Columbus Day Weekend in October. Julie will be driving in for that event.
After a gorgeous week, the day is sweltering here in Chitown..Air on today...Just skyped with Mike and await Tuesday surgery results with Nancy.
Gonna try to call Pat back now. I am well and strong. Trying to return to one full day a week starting this fall (at work). Shall see how that goes. Have a great Labor Day you guys! LOve from ChiTOwn...Maggie P

Long hot summer. We love it here in Chitown which can have whacky weather indeed.

Mary Jo broke her patella and her wrist; Julie and Chealsea joined MJ and I to see Shrek; Brett returns from Afghanistan on September 28 back to Italy to be there as a "scout" for the return of his unit Yea; Teachers are pepping to return to school, Mary and Ed saw their sweet granddaughter get married; we hope Phil Fleege and his family are settling into Huntly, Illinois so he can work in Schaumberg, Il; Carol Ann wrote a note to a few of us locals here who sent moola to the hospice; "Thank you so much for your contribution to Hospice in Ray's name. They were so good to him and us those few days he was there. It certainly made a difficult time more tolerable. I don't have everyone's address so please let each one know we appreciated their caring thoughts, prayers and donations. With love and prayers, Carol Ann and Family"

Atlanta Trip and Ray

You all know by now that Ray Hammersley died this am at 10:30 ish. If any of you want to get together for a memorial bouquet, let me know.
Atlanta what can we say. Tom and Jan were amazing host and hostess and I will post some pics.
We saw Bonnie of course who hosted Kathe and I and her 3 children to her famous home cooked spaghetti meal after we stuffed ourselves with Tom and Jan. We also visited CNN building and hung out in downtown Atlanta as well as slept and sat on the rocker and under their deck tent and had lots of good down time as well. We tasted some of the best BBQ Ribs ever at Jan's son's restaurant. We got to skype with Mike and Pat and MJ a couple of times as well. Laura gave us a reflexology treatment and Tom gave us massages and then turned the hot tub over to us in the evenings. AHHHHH now back to reality.....The best part is Kathe and I are still speaking!!
Julie and Bev arrive tonight for the Festival Fun and my house took hours to clean before they came as I had some rehabbing repairs done to the house while away.Now I am running errands and staying cool in the Chicago heat. Phil Fleege and Ann Smith had birthdays as Geni probably let all of you know.
OCTOBER COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND : YOU are all invited to drive Chicago way the weekend of Columbus Day. Mary and Ed, Jo and Bob, we are hoping Tom and Jan are so far on board. Mike and Ed and Fred, let us know if you are at all available. What to do? Just visit and hang out....no bigger plans than that. We all have enough bedrooms but let us all know who needs what....Gotta run to apple to fix some computer issues...Love to all!!

Hi Ed ..Almost let it slip what with Fathers Day and all..Have a great one bro!
As for all my other brothers and brothers in laws...Happy Father's Day to one and all.
Had a great road trip with my little sissy to Starved Rock Park. Stayed one night and it was so sloppy on the trails, we never did hike....Will post a few pics.
Welcome home Mary Jo...after helping Marianne and Ryan with Lily for the second week. Marianne now back in the saddle at her office.
Looking forward to seeing Tom and Jan....we have heard from them and they are welcoming us with open arms...see you also Bonnie and Laura and Sara and Ginny I hope...is it true Joe will be there as well??????I just found that out.
Got sun burned on the trip back today after horrific storms while at the hotel...going to get my Aloe Vera and go for a late evening bike ride....Let us all know what F Day brought....too bad Fred about your trip but keep us in mind as we come into Fall. Hi Mary so glad someone reads this thing!! Hey, Jo was in town last weekend as was Julie. Fri eve Karen and Luke, Kathe, Pat and Mary Jo, Marianne and Lily as well as Emily and Alicia and Norb all joined us for our Welcome Lily, and Congrats Nurse Karen Party! We ended up making mom's Sloppy Joe's and some salads and hopefully everyone enjoyed the goodies.
Jo stayed till yesterday and we had lots of downtime and of course a Margarita or two at our fav Mexicana spot....Bob we missed you.....Julie wanted to return to Clinton to finish her visit with Bonnie Lennon who was in town with her family to celebrate her Mom's birthday as I recall and that sounded like a wild time over there as well.
Mike we talked about you and hoped you are doing well but no time to skype,,,again!!
Lily is a wee doll and we so enjoyed seeing her. Marianne goes back to work this week so Mary Jo went north to stay with her during this transition time. Pat is batching it and MJ is due back Friday so he will not get too lonely for the weekend.
This weekend Roseanne and I take our furs into the fur store (a ritual) so we have some duet time together and she returned from a fun visit with Evey and her family in PENNS.
Gonna try to hop on here now and again and look forward to some reconnecting from you guys. Kathe and I are going to try to make some time this holiday weekend to plan our Road Trip to Atlanta....what are we thinking??? and we thank Tom and his family who have shared that they are looking forward to this visit and we are so grateful we get to visit another member of our family.

This weekend, Pat and MJ are hosting us we think on Sunday for a BBQ....Roseanne is off to Uvey's for a visit.....Mike, sorry I have not skyped lately, we hope you are doing well....Mary and Ed let us know how you Grandson's Grandparents Day went...so much to hear about so little time...Chicago roasted earlier in the week (88degrees and hi humidity) but today the windows are open and the breezes blowing in with the smell of Lilacs and peonies on the wind....how much better could it get???

I am still finding Facebook a hard media for me to totally wrap my brain around so I am hoping to make more time to enter some goodies on the blog...We hope to blog while on our road trip but we shall see. Kathe has a new camera so if she brings her cable we can post some pics!!

Was my face red: I found this blog posting on one of my professional sites...I thought it was on the family site so here is what I wrote on May 20 Mary's birthday (and Christian Mason's by the way)

I wanted to get back on here to spread the date of Mary's Birthday and say a quick hello. My visits here are few and far now as we have skype and facebook.
I got to meet Lily for the first time on Mon eve when Ann Schermann and her son Steven stayed with me as they proceeded to Chicago for a few days for Ann's work. Pat and MJ and Marianne and Lily stopped in for some dinner and Marianne showed off her adorable Lily and her sweet and patient mothering skills!
Looking forward to a visit from Fred this summer in June we hope and Kathe and I are hopefully planning a wee bit of a trip perhaps in July. We shall see on that one.
Karen Schumacher as you all know graduated from nursing school and we are having a gathering here on June 4 for a BBQ to celebrate that and let all others get their first peek at our darling Lily so Joanne is joining in as well as Julie. That should be a very fine event as well!
Busy lady so gotta run this morning. The day looks swell so I want to finish my paperwork and go for a walk! Bye for now

Thought we would share a few pics of our visit to Clinton. We spent Fri night at a fish fry, Sat we shopped and then Sat evening we had our TACOS with Brian and Chelsea and Bev. Our hotel had a hot tub so Sat nite Chelsea got to swim in it for a while and then we met up Sunday for Mass and a quick lunch before we left town. Think Krumpets restaurant next time you visit yall...it is very very nice and even said hi to Father Tony...whose mother fell and now has a brain hematoma..for those of you who know him and care.
The nieces and nephews are appalled that we post pics of the cemetary where the folks are so thought we would share the horror...of the haunted cemetary...:) Mike you sound good..and hope Ed Fleege had a happy day!

Alicia and Norb held a great party at their home last Friday night for Brett and Kirsten and also for Christian and Kevin...to celebrate soldiering and new girlfriends and just being together. It was very fun and I think the photos will speak for themselves. Pat and Mary Jo became grandparents that morning and they still found time to drop by...Welcome to our family Lilian Elise. Roseanne wanted to share that her Kellene had a baby boy a few days earlier and we welcome little dude Colin I think is his name (Correct me if I am wrong )..Julie drove in with Brian, and the Perry side of the family showed up big and strong as well. It was very cool. I just heard today that Brett and Kirsten became engaged last evening...just in case you did not know.

Hello Lennons,
I am back at the Old Fashioned Communication System here but thought it would be fun to revisit the blog with the goings on over here.
Last Saturday night, Patti and Harry's kids had an 80th birthday party for their folks. I am going to include some photos from the evening in the Clubhouse near where Carol and Ken reside. There was a lot of noise and booze and kids and more noise but it was a true Irish gig a lig and we had a lot of laughs. Note: I will try to identify when I post the pics.
Exciting news also includes Brett home on furlough for two weeks. I will attach a quick photo I took of he and his new sweetie Kirsten and Kathe. I am sure the Facebook will show more pics and also I will take some photos this Friday evening as well...when we expect to see Brett and Christian and Kevin all in the same place for a real welcome home celebration for our brave soldiers.
It was fun hosting Fred and Beth a few weeks ago also as they traveled to Milwaukee to attend the funeral of Beth's auntie who was very old. We went to two of my favorite restaurants and they enjoyed both and treated me so of course I loved all of that! It was fun to visit with both of them and I am hoping they visit soon again! Time was short so Mike, I could not get them onto the skype. Speaking of which, I have had a lot of fun skyping with Mike and also on Sunday, Joanne. Mary and Tom and Ed are also skypers now and of course Pat and I get on with Kathe when we can......How fun
At Easter, I will give you an update but so far it looks like Kathe and I and Roseanne are heading to Iowa to stay in a hotel near Julie so we can be with her for Easter, eat Tacos and visit Mom and Dad. No Lauderdale for us oldies on our spring break. Who would have thought we are excited about heading OUT of Chitown but we are!!!!
The Facebook is fun but every now and again it is fun to do a little publishing. Let me post the pics for now. Love to you all!!

Jumers Weekend

What will be referred to from now on as Jumers Weekend, Mary and Ed and Sue Fleege, Jo and Bob, Pat and MJ, Kathe, Julie and (her friend Bev) and of course moi got together this weekend for family time. Roseanne intended to join us but became ill over the weekend.
Pat and MJ hosted Fleeges incl Sue, and Jo and Bob, I hosted Julie and Bev....I can only say the part I was involved in so here goes: Bev and Julie arrived on Friday night and we ordered in Chinese food; we then got up Sat and hit Yorktown and then spent most of the day at Pat and MJ's visiting, eating ,laughing, drinking, celebrating Julie's Late birthday, and talking about everyone who was not there. We lucked out and got ahold of Fred to sing Happy Birthday to him. We also skyped with Tom and then Mike and saw his new grandson(adorable Luke). We checked on Mike's knee which he fell on and we are able to stay in touch as he begins to heal. On Sunday, the crew minus Jo and Bob (who left Dodge City due to snow) came over for wine and cheese and more Chinese Food. MJ made a great carrot cake...to die for...and other sundry desserts became part of the naughty weekend.
Tom just tried to skype me and the called got lost AGAIN...but it was good to hear from him... Columbus Day in October is the next Chicago Jumers Weekend..so anyone wanting to hit Chitown to meet up with us, please keep that date open.
The Snow piles were hight according to our guests but we had a great time any hoo..We watched some of the OPening of the Games....I have been to the Olympics and I will say, I enjoyed it just as much as if we were there....I will post some photos..especially of the FINE gifts that Julie received.....Without Trader JOe's by the way, where would we be?????Love you all mb

Alicia and Norb's First Eggnog Party

Kathe and I and Pat and MJ happily attended her daughter's First Christmas Party last Sat evening. A and N had the house decked out in all its glory...just for an idea of what we ate (I actually had a tummy ache on Sunday)...dips and chips and cheese and crackers and fruit kabobs and ham on the bone and beef sandwiches and sausage and sauerkraut and homemade cookies and pasta salads and bon bons and baby cheesecakes and oh my God....wonderful bar service and long tables of many of their friends...they outdid themselves and we all had a great time. Thank you Alicia and Norb!
The white snow is magically beautiful. We are a little anxious about the upcoming weather as we do have some plans now for Christmas Eve at Alicia's followed by Midnight Mass and on Christmas Day, Pat and MJ are hosting a gathering there and we are excited to be able to see Karen and Marianne. Of course I saw Emily on Sat night as well....We are sorely disappointed that due to the blizzard predictions, Jo and Bob and Julie will not be travelling north and east to visit. We will miss them. Pat and I are going to try to do a Tokbox or Skype with Tom in Georgia and hopefully Mary in Minneapolis. We are still working on this. If any of you Tokbox Types want to join in, call us and find out the exact time and simply call up.
I am going into look at the tree tonight while I snooze on the couch and watch the fireplace roar...one more full day of work and then four days off! Kathe held a teacher party tonight so I shall see her tomorrow and find how that went.

Sitting here looking out at my inch or two of snow and after talking to Julie, happy we did not get what she got( 8 inches and a day off work). Pat and Mary Jo are heading downtown as I type to see a stage play Marianne and Karen bought them for Christmas "Young Frankenstein". Kathe and I are meeting them later this eve for dinner to discuss their day of theatre going.
Had a wee bit of a party at my office Thur eve so now all I have left to do business wise is keep my back strong and get a newsletter out. Yea, then holiday stuff lined up to complete.
Talked with Jo also this week and invited her and Bob to come to Chitown for Xmas. The weather may or may not be on their side so we shall see. Sounds like Mary Jo is serving Lasagna to those of us who will not be with anyone and oh yes, Julie is hoping to pop into Oswego as well. Sounds like just a plan at this time.
Roseanne and Tom are flying out to Philadelphia to stay with Uvie and her brood...as adorable as they are. Her children are being home schooled and tested at the top of the state testing results so Uvie should be so very proud of herself.
Brett still awaiting a final flight out to Afghanistan and I know we are all sending mailings to him and Kev and Chrisitan but they are very busy and do not always get back to us. Brett has a fun site on his facebook for us to keep up with him somewhat. Let's just all hope this war thingie is "right thing" to do. Only God knows that for sure I guess
Going out to walk at the mall. My back is a little tight this weekend from schlepping crap to the office for the little party so I am exercising and getting my chiro appts lined up Just thrilled to be able to work again. I still have a young lady that comes in to help out a couple of times a month so that is gooooood...Please keep us informed ya'll as to what your holidays are looking like.
Pat and I skyped a couple of times and we are going to try to skype with Tom on Christmas Day. Any of you that can go to the internet and sign up for skype can join us LIVE....if you need help, email Pat and he can help you get activated.

Thanksgiving Stuff

Not stuffing....Kathe and I went to volunteer at a Homeless Served Restaurant and she ended up on Chicago News! How fun. We only served about 10 people and then were sent on our way. The place was hoping for 300. We should have stayed till the end to get some of the leftover birds. Roseanne and her hubby had a meal at her home. Pat and MJ went up to Madison to be with their kids. Julie was in Clinton with Bev for a home cooked meal. Soo we need to hear from some of our other siblings.
I spent Thur eve at Kathes home where we caught up with Alicia and Norb; Friday after being a guest in Kathe's home, she fixed me her GIANT bath and I took a long bubble bath while she did her thing. We basically goofed off a lot and did NOTHING. Talk about a stress free few days '
Tonight I will go to Alicia's house where she and her mother are making Spritz cookies as they start their tradition of annual baking together. I plan to actually EAT some of them when I arrive there later on. ha ha
Well, I am heading over to facebook to see if I can humiliate myself again (kind of inside joke on what not to do while drinking red wine.) Mary, I cannot wait to hear from you about your day too.

So good to hear from you, Mary. You blow me away with your energy and community spirit...Great to hear about all the kids and congrats to Kathy for her major accomplishment and hope she does well on her tests. It is very nerve wracking but does end. YOU are helping keep the blog alive as much as any body.
Took Pat out for his bday last weekend. MJ and Kathe and I met him at Maggianos (his fav) and we had a lovely evening together. I spent some time also with K last weekend and this weekend in some walking and light shopping.
It is fun watching the goldfish bowl called Facebook. Someday you will be talked into it like I was and see just what a blast it is.
We heard about Marianne's little girl growing in her tummy and MJ has been spotted buying hair barrettes already. So adorable.
K and I are doing some homeless volunteering Thur while all of you guys pig out. Please let me hear a little about it on our family blog if you get some times. I called Roseanne and am hoping to catch up with her as well.
On Dec 5 we three are going to IMAX to see Christmas Carol and then Julie and Bev I think may be coming the next week to go downtown. Otherwise, my dance card is pretty empty.
